Brad Pitt and Edward Norton reunited publicly nearly three decades after starring together in the cult classic Fight Club, drawing widespread attention during the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage match between the United States Men’s National Soccer Team and Turkey.

The actors attended the Group D fixture at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 25, where television cameras repeatedly showed them watching the match together from the stands. Pitt and Norton reacted enthusiastically to the action on the field, with Pitt throwing his arms into the air during one sequence while Norton appeared stunned as play unfolded.

At other moments, the former co-stars focused on their conversation while following the match. The appearance marked a rare public reunion for the actors, who starred together in David Fincher’s 1999 psychological drama Fight Club. Their appearance quickly became a talking point among fans on social media, with many celebrating the reunion of the film’s leading stars 27 years after its release.

The United States fell 3-2 to Turkey after Kaan Ayhan scored a late winner. Despite the defeat, the USMNT advanced to the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup and is scheduled to face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32 on July 1 in Santa Clara, California.

Released in 1999, Fight Club was adapted from Chuck Palahniuk’s 1996 novel of the same name. Pitt portrayed Tyler Durden, while Norton played the unnamed Narrator, an office worker whose chronic insomnia leads to the emergence of Durden as his alter ego. The film also starred Helena Bonham Carter and Jared Leto.

Although the film received mixed reviews upon its theatrical release, it later became a cult favorite and remains one of the most recognized films in both actors’ careers. According to Box Office Mojo, Fight Club earned more than $100 million worldwide.
