On Monday, Brandel Chamblee once again sounded off on LIV Golf. While appearing on the Dan on Golf podcast, he boldly claimed that LIV Golf will not have any legacy in the future. Fans would later slam him for this take.

Chamblee has been a huge critic of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed tour. Many times he has found himself into hotly contested debates regarding the 54-hole league.

Recently, he joined Golf Insider Dan Rapaport‘s podcast channel, Dan on Golf. During this, the 62-year-old claimed that people only watch sports which matters to them.

People only really watch sports that matterI don’t think there’s any sense that anything that they’re doing on LIV matters historically or will matter from a legacy standpoint.

Brandel Chamblee said

Earlier this year, Chamblee took a huge swipe at LIV Golf. After getting into a debate with a social media user on X, he claimed that the product of LIV “stinks” and that’s why no one will be willingly to cover them unless they get paid.

He then took shots at LIV Golfers Phil Mickelson, Joaquin Niemann, and Talor Gooch. He attacked Mickelson after the “Lefty” claimed that bringing children to LIV Golf events was much more comfortable than the PGA Tour. Following that he boldly claimed that Niemann and Gooch were not as good as they are being advertised by LIV.

Social media reactions to Brandel Chamblee’ latest remarks against LIV Golf

It is quite clear Brandel Chamblee is not a fan of LIV Golf. He once again expressed his disliking of them with a scathing remark while appearing on the Dan on Golf podcast.

Fans on social media though did not seem too pleased with these words from Chamblee. While discussing this on X, several users ripped him for his claim. Some users asked why he cared so much about them if nobody else did. Meanwhile, another user brutally slammed him and wrote, “He is a clown“.

Check out that and some other reactions from X below:

LIV Golf was officially founded in 2021. Led by then-CEO Greg Norman, the league attracted some big names from the PGA Tour on huge money deals and had their first season in 2022.

Since 2023, they expanded their schedule. At the end of that year, former World No.1 Jon Rahm joined the league on a reported $600 million and added a 13th team, Legion XIII to their circuit. There are some rumors that the number of teams could be expanded in the future.

Brandel Chamblee recently claimed LIV was ‘dying a slow costly death’ after success of The Players Championship

The TV ratings and viewership of the PGA Tour have started to rise. With the success of The Players Championship, Brandel Chamblee declared that LIV was ‘dying a slow costly death‘ in comparison to the PGA Tour.

According to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, the final round of The Players Championship drew 3.6 million viewers. This was a slight increase from last year as the 2024 event drew in 3.5 million viewers. He also added that the peak audience on Sunday at 7 pm also grew from 6.2 million to this year from 6 million last year.

While quoting this tweet, Chamblee pointed that the LIV Golfers have “seller’s remorse” and that the audience saw right through them.

The PGA Tour is killing it and LIV is dying a slow costly death. LIV players have seller’s remorse.

In another tweet, he compared the ratings from this event and LIV Golf’s finale which saw Jon Rahm win the Individual title following an impressive debut campaign.

To increase their viewership, LIV Golf had signed a huge deal with FOX Sports before the start of the 2025 season. While the PGA Tour saw 3.6 million viewers at The Players Championship, the LIV Golf Singapore event drew mere 34,000 viewers for the final round – a drastic gap between the two tours.
