Golf analyst Brandel Chamblee has taken another dig at the Phil Mickelson and LIV Golf. He has once again dropped a bold statement regarding the Public Investment Fund (PIF) backed tour and slammed the 6-time major champion.
Chamblee has been a strong critic of LIV Golf since their existence. Several times he has blasted them and accused Mickelson of destroying the sport of golf. He once urged the Golf Hall of Fame to remove him as he continued to play for the 54-hole circuit.
Mickelson recently sat down for an interview with Joe Pompliano at the Joe Pump Show. In the interview, “The Lefty” pointed out why LIV Golf would be more successful than the PGA Tour. He mentioned how bringing children to the PGA Tour event is uncomfortable for a parent.
Chamblee did not seem to like these words from him. The 62-year-old took a jibe at Mickelson while reposting a tweet on X.
So Phil says kids get a better experience at events funded by a murderous regime than at events funded by a philanthropic organization… got it. https://t.co/xvsL3UTmvC

Recently, Chamblee had taken a shot at the breakaway tour after they announced a media deal with Fox Sports. While replying to a X user, the golf analyst claimed that the product of LIV “stinks” and that the money of theirs comes from a “sewer”.
In June 2023, Chamblee dropped a “murderous dictator” take on LIV Golf. He mentioned that working with them was like shaking hands with a murderous dictator. Few months later, he would blast Jon Rahm for joining them on a $600 million deal.
Social media left divided by Brandel Chamblee latest jibe at Phil Mickelson and LIV Golf
Phil Mickelson‘s take on why LIV Golf would be more successful than the PGA Tour had ignited some wild reactions from fans on social media. Brandel Chamblee‘s words though has left the fans divided.
Users of X were split while reacting to Chamblee’s comments. While some supported him, some called him out. One fan even took a shot at the golf analyst and claimed that he was a “broken record” at the moment.
Check out some of the reactions regarding Chamblee’s latest attack on LIV Golf and Mickelson below:
The point you attempted to make says nothing about the actual experience for fans at these events

You’re just a broken record at this point
If you gave a kid two slices of pizza and asked which they liked better, they won’t factor in the history of the chef, Brandel

Brandel, c'mon, I'm in your corner at least 95% of the time, but your post is a logical fallacy.

The quality of an "experience" is not necessarily dependent on the source of the funding.
Totally agree-Fed Ex St.Jude Classic would be a great example. Thanks for this Brandel C.

I love Phil but truly an insane argument to make here

Dear Chmblee,
— Joe Pop (@JoePops_) February 2, 2025
Fuck off.
Everyone in the golf community.
I mean, Phil is right. LIV experience is way more fun. You going to go walk the crowds next week at the WMPO? Bring some young kids with you and try to get close enough to see a single shot? Show them the hookers and violent drunks? Seriously
— Mike Joseph (@MikeJosephAZ) February 2, 2025
Phil is just wrong here. LIV should go away
— Bryan Iverson (@BryanGIverson) February 2, 2025
Well, the PGA Tour is also going to be taking Saudi money, by the looks of it.

Rory resigned himself to that fact a while ago, you should probably do the same.
Regardless, no major sport can pull off two "major" leagues. Didn't work for XFL, won't work here. Audience 2 small
Jesus Brandel give up. Why listen to it other than you’re just trying to stay relevant?

At the moment it does not seem like Chamblee will ever forgive Phil Mickelson and the others who are part of LIV Golf. His words though come at a time when the PGA Tour are working on a deal alongside PIF on a merger deal.
As for LIV Golf, at the moment they are preparing for their fourth season. The first event of the 2025 season will be played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this week from February 6th to 8th.
