“H*e activities…with h*e tendencies,” Brandi Rhodes breaks silence after husband Cody Rhodes gets tricked into vicious beatdown by AJ Styles on SmackDown

The latest episode of SmackDown saw AJ Styles fake his retirement and trick Cody Rhodes into a vicious beatdown. The WWE Universe was taken aback by the wrestling veteran’s actions. Several fans were furious at the former WWE Champion for his actions, including the WWE Undisputed Champion’s wife, Brandi Rhodes.

Brandi Rhodes took to X to express her thoughts after SmackDown went off the air. She seemed furious at Styles for his underhanded tactics to get one over on Rhodes. Just like the WWE Universe, she did not expect the former IWGP Champion to fake his retirement and stoop down to such an extent.

AJ Styles told Rhodes in a backstage segment that he wanted him to come out to the ring during his retirement speech. The American Nightmare was happy to oblige. Later, in the ring, the O.C. leader appreciated the former AEW EVP for giving him one of the best matches of his career at Backlash.

However, Styles blindsided Cody Rhodes and attacked him. The Phenomenal One laid out the WWE Undisputed Champion with a Styles Clash from the top of the steel steps onto the floor. Unfortunately, the former TNA star still wasn’t done. He continued his beatdown on the champion even after SmackDown went off the air.

Eric Bischoff recently spoke about Cody Rhodes and his reign since becoming WWE Undisputed Champion at WrestleMania XL. Speaking on the 83 Weeks show, he addressed the criticism that The American Nightmare is facing for his title reign.

The Hall of Famer talked about how Rhodes leaving the WWE, building himself up, establishing the company’s biggest competitor since WCW, and now coming back was an incredible story. It had many thick and thin layers of storytelling to play with. No championship reign could be as exciting as that real-life story. 

Eric Bischoff asserted that it is not easy to keep up the momentum for a young babyface. It was unrealistic for the WWE Universe to expect him to have the same intensity in all his rivalries as he did with Roman Reigns. Moreover, it is impossible for every storyline to have the same level of emotional engagement as WrestleMania throughout the year. Even if it was, fans would get bored of it pretty soon.
