Premier League: Brentford vs Aston Villa Player Ratings as the Bees snatch late win

Brentford vs Aston Villa: Brentford squared off against Aston Villa at the Brentford Community Stadium in Matchday 21 of the ongoing edition of the Premier League.

Brentford won 2-1 against Aston Villa on Sunday evening. Aston Villa opened the scoring in the game after the goal fro, striker Danny Ings who finished off from a tight angle after the assist from Buendia. However, Brentford managed to find the equalizer in the end minutes of the first half after a sublime curling finish by Wissa. Mads Roerslev then scored the winner in the end after some good pressure from Brentford. Martinez saved the first attempt but Roerslev slammed home the rebound.

Álvaro Fernández(6.5/10)– Fernandez didn’t have much to do in the game but profited hugely save to deny Danny Ings. The striker got away the shot and Fernandez got down right in time to put in his palm.

Pontus Jansson(6/10)- The defender had two-headed opportunities in the first half. Firstly the long throw by Sorensen crept wide of the near post and then secondly another following the corner kick.

Mads Bech Sörensen(6.5/10)- The giant defender produced a fine block in the first half with a diving effort. Danny Ings had a clear shot at goal but Sorensen dived in time to clear away the threat.

Ethan Pinnock(5.5/10)- Not the best performance from the right-center back for Brentford today. He was sloppy in possession and took far too much time to release the ball.

Mathias Jensen(6.5/10)- The midfielder for Brentford was looking very bright in the first half and trying to make things happen. It is unfortunate that he had to take off after being struck down by an injury.

Frank Onyeka(5.5/10)- Onyeka was left frustrated in the middle of the park by the Aston Villa midfielders who ran circles around him. In the end, he also received a yellow card for the tackle on Buendia.

Christian Norgaard (5.5/10)- The midfielder looked uncomfortable on the ball today and was unable to get out of the tight spaces. This made him become irritated and he conceded a lot of fouls as well.

Sergi Canós(5/10)- Sergi Canos’s match had to be cut short due to injury issues. He was replaced in the second half by Saman Ghoddos.

Mads Roerslev(8/10)- Roerslev was the one who made the entire goal for the hosts. He made the brilliant run and then provided a precise pass which was then converted by Wissa. And then he was the one who scored the winner after slotting the ball on the second attempt past Emiliano Martinez.

Yoane Wissa(7.5/10)- Wissa produced a moment of brilliance as he scored the equalizer for the home team. A lovely curled effort that gave the goalkeeper no chance after a brilliant first touch.

Ivan Toney(6/10)- The striker for Brentford was a bit frustrated in the first half with the lack of service for him. He also received a yellow card after he tried to stop a counter-attacking play.

Saman Ghoddos (5.5/10)- The Iranian international came on in the second half. He was sloppy on the ball and didn’t find the right balls.

Shandon Baptiste (6/10)- The Ghanaian international was brought on in the second half. He got some playing time slotting in for the injured Jensen.

Emiliano Martínez (5.5/10): The Argentine international was sensational in the match as he made some vital saves but was unfortunate enough to concede two goals in the match which turned the course of the game in favor of Brentford.

 Kortney Hause (5/10): The English center-back was sloppy and was not able to provide the much-needed defensive support for Aston Villa. Hause was directly responsible for the second goal of the match as he gave away possession at the edge of the box which led Roerslev to score the winner for Brentford.

Ezri Konsa (5/10): The English defender was lost in the game and was not able to provide the defensive support to Aston Villa as he kept on getting beaten by Brentford which at the end cost them the match.

 Matt Targett (6/10): The English left-back was in staggering form in the match, providing some strong runs and passes from the left flank. Although he was caught out of position a few times, he was speedy enough to recover and regain possession of the ball.

Matthew Cash (6/10): The Polish left-back was strong and clinical in the match as he made some vital interceptions and tackles throughout the game. Cash made some staggering runs from the right flank of the pitch and created a lot of trouble for Brentford by providing some sensational crosses inside the box.

Douglas Luiz (5.5/10): The Brazilian played really well in the game and made some vital blocks and interceptions to stop the Brentford’s forward before they could create any more danger. He played his role decently and could have been a little better in the latter half of the game.

 Jacob Ramsey (6.5/10): The young English midfielder was excellent in the match as he had good passing accuracy and was calm throughout the match. Ramsay provided the vital through to Danny Ings at the 16th minute of the game which resulted in the opening goal of the match for Villa.

 John McGinn (6/10): The Scottish midfielder was decent in the midfield as he made some good interceptions and provided some strong balls forward which created a lot of danger upfront for Brentford.

 Danny Ings (8/10): The English forward was absolutely sensational throughout the game as he made some strong runs with the ball upfront and created a lot of danger for the Brentford backline and even helped Villa by providing an early lead with a brilliant strike at the bottom right corner of the net.

Emiliano Buendía (7.5/10): The Argentine winger was by far the best player on the pitch as he made some crazy forward runs with the ball and provided some exceptional passes to the forward line. Buendia was clinical defensively also as he made some vital interceptions and tackles to regain possession of the ball.

Bertrand Traoré (6/10): The Burkinabe footballer made some staggering runs through the right flank of the pitch but was not able to bring that major final impact in the match at the final third of the pitch. Traore could have been a little better with his decision-making and passing.

Trézéguet(5.5/10)- The forward made a good attacking run in the end minutes. He had a potential penalty call but it was waved off.
