On the season premiere of Raw, the final match of the night was between Braun Strowman and Keith Lee. “The Monster Among Men” Strowman was coming off a huge defeat from Smackdown. He lost the Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns, a couple of days back.

Strowman was injured after that match, due to the assault from Reigns. Reigns attacked him with a steel chair, to send a message to Jey Uso.

On the other hand, Lee’s momentum has also fizzled out since his debut on the main roster. In his first match, he had successfully defeated The Viper Randy Orton. But since then, he has been defeated on numerous occasions, by Orton and McIntyre. He did win a couple of matches against Andrade and Ziggler, but was still in search for a big win.

The Strowman-Lee match on Raw, was important for both of them, considering their recent form.

The rivalry

Strowman picked up the win against Lee on Raw. But it was nowhere near a clear win. Strowman low blowed Lee with his head, and then hit a running Big Boot for the win. Lee was clearly not okay with this move. He retaliated with a low blow too, while Strowman was celebrating.

Hours after the match, Strowman put out a tweet, saying that Lee might’ve gotten the last laugh, but Strowman was victorious. “Wait till I get my hands on you when I’m 100%”, read a part of the tweet. This is an indication that this rivalry is far from over, and we may be seeing more of these two giants, once Strowman has completely recovered.

Neither Strowman nor Lee are booked to appear at WWE’s next pay-per-view Hell in a Cell. So we might have to wait till the next Raw episode to find out how this rivalry progresses.
