Is “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt officially Heel?

On the season premiere of Raw, The Fiend appeared thrice. His multiple appearances are indicating that he might be officially turning Heel. The episode aired on 19^th October, 2020. The show kicked off with Alexa Bliss and The Fiend appearing in the ring.

Retribution, led by Mustafa Ali walked down to the ring and surrounded them. The lights went out and both, Wyatt and Bliss, had disappeared from the ring. But The Fiend had disappeared, only to return after Retribution’s match with the Hurt Business.

Retribution lost their match to MVP’s group. The Fiend returned and took out all the Retribution members. A Sister Abigail for Slapjack. Slam on the commentary table for Mace. Ali successfully saved himself from the hands of The Fiend, but T-Bar couldn’t. He was hit by a Sister Abigail, after experiencing the Mandible Claw.

Later, in the same episode, Mustafa Ali reveals that he has been the mystery hacker all along. He reveals that he has identified all the wrongdoings happening in the company. WWE abandons everyone, off they cannot make money. Ali is one of them. Retribution consists of such wrestlers who have been wronged by the company.

Considering, Retribution is a group of wrestlers that have been wronged, The Fiend looks like the Heel in this storyline.  

Origins of The Fiend

The Fiend had made his first appearance at Summerslam, where he faced The Prince Finn Balor. His appearance had come off after really long build-ups. The character has been really well received. But, since the character has been introduced, he has never been clearly a Face or a Heel.

At times, The Fiend was exacting revenge on every wrestler that had wronged Bray Wyatt. This gave his character a Face feel. But there have also been times, when The Fiend was just attacking wrestlers, with no real reason.

Now, it remains to be seen whether WWE develops a proper feud between The Fiend and Retribution, or they just get added to the long list of wrestlers that Wyatt has dominated.
