Breaking: Roger Federer is confirmed for ATP 250 in Doha – his first tournament since last year’s Australian Open

Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer has finally lifted the uncertainty around his much-anticipated return at the ATP 250 event in Doha which runs from March 8-13.

Except for the charity match against Rafa Nadal in February 2020; the 20 time Grand Slam champion, Federer has not played an ATP event since losing to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final’s of last year’s Australian Open.

The Swiss underwent a surgery on his right knee soon after his exit from the Australian Open last year which had a follow-up procedure in June as well. At that point, he announced he wouldn’t play again until 2021.

Federer even raised concerns about his future by saying, “I hope there is still something to see of me in the new year. We will see.”

Last month, the 20 time Major winner, Federer even announced his withdrawal from the rescheduled Australian Open as he was apprehensive of recovering in time.

Finally, after a making the world wait for almost a year; the Swiss tennis ace, who had been training in Dubai, is ready to make his much-anticipated return to tennis at the outdoor hardcourts in Doha starting from March 8th, 2021.
