Kepa Arrizabalaga(6/10)- Kepa made a good save initially to save out the deflected shot from Mac Allister. However, he failed to block out the header from Adam Webster.

Antonio Rudiger(6.5/10)- Antonio Rudiger was being troubled at times by the pace of Tariq Lamptey. However, he managed to hold his ground and defended well.

Thiago Silva(7/10)- The veteran Brazilian defender was one of the best players in the first half. Silva was making clearances and interceptions at all times. He was crucial in the defence.

Cesar Azpilicueta (6/10)- The defender had a crack at goal in the first half. The ball came to him after the initial clearance and Azpilicueta whipped in a shot with his right foot which was palmed away by Sanchez.

Marcos Alonso(5.5/10)- Marcos Alonso was the first player to go into the referee’s book in the game. Tariq Lamptey was off and running on the counterattack but he made a cynical challenge to stop him.

N’golo Kante(7/10)- A good performance from the French international and was good in possession. N’golo Kante also provided the assist for Hakim Ziyech’s goal.

Jorginho (5.5/10)- A below-par performance from the Italian midfielder today. His off-the-ball movement was poor and he didn’t bring anything creative.

Callum Hudson-Odoi(6.5/10)- The forward had a golden opportunity to double the lead for Chelsea in the ending moments of the first half. However, he spilled his shot and his effort was high and wide.

Romelu Lukaku(6/10)- The Belgian striker had hardly any touches in the first half. He set up a good chance for Callum Hudson-Odoi who spilled his shot. He made a good run in the second half but the shot was saved by Sanchez.

Brighton vs Chelsea

Robert Sánchez(5.5/10)- The goalkeeper really shouldn’t be beaten from that range by Hakim Ziyech. The ball fell right in front of him and he should be expected to reach out for that.

Adam Webster(7.5/10)- The big center-back made a smart run to head in the equalizer for Brighton and Hove Albion. Webster confused the Chelsea defence and found himself in heaps of space to score.

Dan Burn(6/10)- Dan Burn got lucky on one occasion after Callum Hudson-Odoi spilled his chance. Burn had lost possession at a dangerous position as he tried to win the ball back.

Joël Veltman(6/10)- Veltman did a good job today defensively. He didn’t allow much space to Mason Mount and was close to Callum Hudson-Odoi as well.

Steven Alzate(6/10)- Alzate set up a lovely chance for Danny Welbeck. Alzate chipped the ball over the top into the path of Danny Welbeck who wasn’t able to control the ball.

Pascal Groß (6/10)- Pascal Gross threaded a brilliant through ball for Danny Welbeck to chase just after play resumed. However, the latter’s shot was wide into the near post netting.

Marc Cucurella(6.5/10)- The Spanish international was once again one of the best players for the home team. He was constantly a threat on the left-hand flank.

Tariq Lamptey(6.5/10)- the former Chelsea man was doing well on the right-hand side. He was easily getting past Marcos Alonso and even troubled Antonio Rudiger on occasions.

Danny Welbeck(6/10)- Danny Welbeck took a crack at the goal on his own in the first half. After the through ball from Cucurella, Welbeck got past Cesar Azpilicueta and released a shot that was well wide.

Alexis Mac Allister(5.5/10)- Mac Allister will be disappointed tonight given the role he had with the goal. He couldn’t close down Hakim Ziyech early enough and the shot took a deflection from him.

Jakub Moder(6/10)- The forward had an initial effort go wide in the starting minutes. Moder was set up nicely by Danny Welbeck but his shot fizzed past the post.

Substitute-

Neal Maupay(6/10)- The striker was surprised after the cross from Lamptey came his way. He couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity that he had.

Leandro Trossard(6.5/10)- The winger was extremely bright since coming on and was a constant presence. He crossed a good ball towards Maupay who couldn’t capitalize.
