One can retire from fighting, but fighting will retire from the competitors. This is the case with most fighters like Michael Bisping, who sometimes encounter troublesome situations. That’s exactly what happened when a young thief tried to mess with Bisping and his family while exploring the Palace of Versailles in Paris.
‘The Count’ took to X and shared nitty-gritty details of what actually took place. During his visit to the fabled Palace of King Louis XIV, they ran into a smug thief who snagged his wife’s purse. The UFC legend pursued the thug on foot and got a hold of him to recover his lost property.
An outspoken personality like him has now attained sage-like patience post-retirement. It is safe to say that the mugger got away scot-free with just a slap on his wrist. This is just yet another brilliant example of how martial arts can teach you restraint and wisdom. The situation could have taken a more horrifying turn in any other case just as easily.
After retirement, Michael Bisping has become a social media personality and a main-stay commentator for UFC. He shares the wealth of his knowledge as a commentator and countless tales on social media. This combination has kept him in the public eye as an analyst while also allowing fans to take a sneak peek into his life. It is not the only time Bisping had a run-in with a crime.
Michael Bisping almost robbed at gunpoint in Africa
The retired UFC fighter has had many intriguing run-ins with the world of crime. France was only the latest crime adventure of Michael Bisping. According to an article by The MAC Life, Bisping was almost robbed at gunpoint during the production of the TV show ‘Warriors‘ in Cape Town, South Africa.
Narrating the incident, he stated that one weekend, he was returning to his hotel from the city. Things took a turn for the worse when he got lost in the city amongst the wrong crowd. Onlookers surrounded him, and a car loaded with gunmen rushed him. Demanding him to get in the car, Bisping had the wisdom not to oblige and wait for an opportune moment to react.
Incidentally, the onlookers go into an argument with the gunmen, which pays the way for him to push them out of the way. Thankfully for his family, friends, and fans, Bisping escaped a tricky situation without a scratch. Bizarre things happen to MMA fighters all the time. However, this was one situation no one wanted to get involved in.
