“Golden flowers everywhere,” UFC legend reveals getting ‘transported’ to road trip after facing powerful punch in fight
UFC veteran Michael Bisping remembers getting an out-of-body experience while fighting Chael Sonnen during the 2012 title eliminator.

In its 30 years of existence, UFC has been filled with incredible stories involving old fighters. The lore of the sport remains more interesting than any other. Veterans often share these stories, which get the attention of fight fans. Recently, former middleweight champion Michael Bisping shared an instance from his fight with Chael Sonnen, which has since gone viral.
Michael Bisping fought Chael Sonnen in a highly competitive middleweight title eliminator. Unfortunately, Bisping lost the bout after three rounds of grueling back-and-forth action. In a recent video, Bisping hilariously talked about getting hit by Sonnen during the fight. According to the British fighter, it transported him to the field of golden flowers in the middle of the fight.
Momentarily I was transported. I was in the middle of a field on a bike, riding through a field on a bike with like all these golden flowers everywhere. Then all of a sudden I come back to, I’m in the f***ing octagon taking shots in the face.

It was a closely contested and was a battle between Sonnen’s relentless grappling pressure and Bisping’s striking. The Brit had his moments and did well stopping several takedowns from Sonnen. However, at the end of three rounds, the ‘American Gangster’ edged Bisping due to his overall control time. It just stopped the British fighter from challenging for the title.

The winner of the bout was supposed to fight Anderson Silva for the title, and Sonnen got that opportunity to do so at UFC 148. However, he lost via TKO but did get the opportunity to settle the score this year in a boxing match. Nevertheless, by the end of their respective careers, Bisping did manage to get the belt but Sonnen couldn’t. Nevertheless, the 2012 bout was truly a middleweight classic.

Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping are certified legends and are well known for their trash-talking. Recently, lightweight fighter Renato Moicano revealed how he was once mad at Sonnen for mocking his country, Brazil. During the build-up of the fight, the trash-talking was quite on display and fans loved it. Sonnen was more experienced, but the ‘Count’ made it hard for the American to outsmart him.
Bisping was on a four-fight win streak and was determined to get his hands on the UFC title. Unfortunately, he came up short in the fight. The decision was a little controversial with many including Dana White giving Bisping the win over Sonnen. The winner on the other hand was satisfied but didn’t fail to give Bisping his flowers.
He was a tough fight and I’m not gonna disparage anything that he did. He hit me so hard…I said to myself, ‘Oh, you have no idea how bad you have hurt me.’ My body still doesn’t feel right.

Since their retirement, both fighters have gained mutual respect for each other and have collaborated on YouTube. Both legends are now busy making UFC-related content and have a pretty active pool of online audiences. Bisping also works closely with UFC as a presenter and commentator. Meanwhile, the American Gangster appears as an analyst on ESPN.
