While Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes may be the darlings of the Chiefs Kingdom, it wasn’t smooth sailing between the two initially. The pair had humble beginnings in Texas.

During the August 28th episode of the Whoop podcast with creator Will Ahmed, Brittany Mahomes opened up about a memory that very few knew about. It was a special moment when she and Patrick were in high school.

Brittany reminisced about the moment and called it the cutest thing that has anyone done for her. Apparently, Patrick was the one who made the first move.

One day at lunch, because we sat at the same table every day, he was trying to be corny and wrote me a Valentine’s letter and brought me a rose. It was so cute, and I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

While the 28-year-old found the gesture cute, she did not reciprocate immediately. They were only in high school with big dreams in their heads. She knew it would take some time for the two to be together, but she’s glad they are together now.

We were 16 and not thinking about the future. He was a sophomore, I was a junior, and we were just in high school. We didn’t think it would turn into this, but I’m really glad it did. We’re really enjoying life together.

The pair got married in March 2022 after the Chiefs quarterback completed his 5th season at Arrowhead.

They have to stay away from family and practice with the teams at the facility day and day out. While some who live close by get to see their families, others—not so much because they live in a completely different state.

It’s a similar situation for 3x Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. In his absence, Brittany takes care of the family and their two kids, Sterling and Bronze.
