Tyreek Hill caught heat from the Amazon Prime crew on the day the Miami Dolphins succumbed to their third straight loss. His issues with his ex-wife, Keeta Vaccaro, turned into a big talking point for the announcers.

Just before the seven-minute mark in the fourth quarter, Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Khalil Shakir, improving the score to 21-28.

Veteran kicker Matt Prater lined up for the kickoff, but before he could kick the ball, the camera switched to the Dolphins’ dugout. The screen flashed an anxious Tyreek Hill, itching to get back on the field.

Little did he know that the announcers were discussing his personal affairs in front of the nation.

The NFL is investigating accusations of domestic violence against Tyreek Hill and filings made earlier this month related to his divorce. Hill’s ex-wife alleges, he was violent with her on eight separate occasions, dating back to January 2024. He has denied this and has not been charged criminally.

Prime’s sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said

Hartung wasn’t finished. She even mentioned Hill pleading guilty to domestic violence in college (Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2014). The program dismissed Hill in the wake of the allegations, forcing him to find a new team.

As Hartung mentioned, Hill is engaged in a legal battle with Vaccaro. She reportedly sought nearly $50k monthly in compensation for the physical and emotional damage inflicted on her by the Dolphins wideout.

Hill’s attorney rejected the claims, but the National Organization of Women (NOW) president, Kim Villanueva, has demanded the strictest of punishments.

Tyreek Hill should not be playing while these charges are being investigated. The NFL itself proudly proclaims that forty-seven percent of the NFL audience is women, and women are watching to see where the league stands today.

Hill’s night worsened three minutes before the final whistle. The Bills capitalized on a loose pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Linebacker Terrell Bernard intercepted the pass to win back possession.

Josh Allen and crew ran down the clock to under thirty seconds by ending the drive with a 48-yard field goal from Prater. Tagovailoa barely had any time for a reply. The game finished 21-31.

Hill scored his first touchdown of the season, but his overall numbers decreased to 5 for 49 yards compared to week two, when he logged 6 for 109 yards against the New England Patriots.

AFC North team ends pursuit of Tyreek Hill

With the Dolphins’ season in the doldrums, several teams inquired about trading for Hill. He was among the hottest prospects to leave before the midweek fixture.

Among the teams that showed interest were Hill’s former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hill could solve the Chiefs’ WR issues, but the front office has remained tight-lipped about a possible trade.

The Steelers, on the other hand, are no longer interested. According to reports from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the AFC North club ended its pursuit due to Hill’s civil lawsuit.

My understanding is the Steelers were [interested in trading for Hill], but they’re not anymore because Mike Tomlin is concerned about what happens with this personal conduct policy investigation.

Mike Florio said on PFT Live

Hill is stuck at South Beach for the time being. He nearly left the club in January after experiencing a fallout with the coach and the front office due to poor results.

The Dolphins managed to convince Hill to stay and even bumped up his yearly salary to $30 million APY.

Hill had 1700+ receiving yards in his first two seasons in Miami, but it has been downhill since 2024. Perhaps wins against the Jets and the Panthers might improve the mood a little.
