Blockbuster WrestleMania 42 Showdown with Brock Lesnar in the Mix Under Discussion
This year's WrestleMania will likely play host to Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in what could be a passing of the torch moment for The Ruler.

WrestleMania 42 is almost nine weeks away, and WWE has yet to put its foot on the gas pedal for building toward the show. Thus far, only Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk has been confirmed for the two-night spectacle in Las Vegas.
Whether the match actually ends up happening or not would totally depend on The Best in the World’s upcoming world title defense against Finn Balor at the Elimination Chamber on February 28. Apart from Reigns vs. Punk, WWE has plans to pit Brock Lesnar against Oba Femi, who’s being constantly hailed as the next big thing in the business.
BodySlam reported in its paywalled section that Lesnar vs. Femi has been discussed to take place at this year’s WrestleMania. These men had a brief attrition of war in the Royal Rumble match not that long ago.
Sources indicate to Bodyslam that a match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar has been discussed for WrestleMania 42.

Back then, the ‘Beast Incarnate’ got the last laugh on ‘The Ruler’ by dumping the 27-year-old over the top rope the moment he showed his back to Lesnar.
The former UFC ace ended Femi’s dominating stay in the men’s Rumble, which many fans thought could have been executed better than it was. Nonetheless, it seemed as if WWE tested the waters about a Lesnar/Femi feud by letting them swing at each other at the Royal Rumble.

And guess what? The company got the desired reaction out of it. Speaking of when these goliaths might cross paths on WWE television again, it could happen as early as the 02/23 edition of Raw in Atlanta, as Brock Lesnar has been officially announced to appear that night at the State Farm Arena.
On the other hand, Oba Femi is still a free agent and has made cameo appearances on both Raw and SmackDown since his Royal Rumble outing.
‘The Ruler’ is advertised for this Monday’s Raw in Memphis. Who knows if he becomes a member of the Raw roster and ends up issuing a warning to Lesnar to get the fans even more hyped for their inevitable face-off in the following week?
How has the WrestleMania 42 card shaped up thus far?
As mentioned in the beginning, only Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk looks set in stone for WrestleMania. One could also factor in Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi now. But what about the rest of the card? As of now, Drew McIntyre is expected to defend his Undisputed WWE title against Cody Rhodes yet again. There is, however, a slight possibility that Jacob Fatu gets added to make it a triple threat.

As far as the world title picture in the women’s division is concerned, Liv Morgan will likely pick Stephanie Vaquer as her choice of champion to face at WrestleMania. Jade Cargill, the WWE Women’s Champion, has her first title defense this Friday on SmackDown against Jordynne Grace.
Bianca Belair is unlikely to return by WrestleMania for a match, as she still hasn’t recovered from the finger injury sustained at last year’s WrestleMania. BodySlam reported that the rehab and recovery process has been rough for ‘The EST’.
A number of complications have kept Belair from returning, but she has allegedly remained positive through the entire ordeal. The report noted that the fans could expect the 36-year-old to be involved at WrestleMania in some capacity.
A source indicated to Bodyslam that Bianca Belair is currently on a list internally with a tag that has no return date designated but confirmed Self Made's report that WWE believes she will be involved at WrestleMania in some fashion.

If not Belair, Cargill has been discussed to defend her women’s title against the likes of Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton, but a decision has yet to be made. Another rumored match for WrestleMania could see Logan Paul take on Bad Bunny. The Grammy Award-winning artist recently raked up headlines for his spectacular Super Bowl 60 halftime performance.

‘The King of Latin Trap’ is reportedly close to making his WWE return sooner than later. Even Cody Rhodes recently namedropped ‘The Maverick’ when asked by TMZ who he would like Bad Bunny to take on in his first WWE match since 2023.
It does seem like it’s in the works. The rest of the WrestleMania card will start playing itself out in the weeks to come.
