Clash in Paris turned out to be a real nightmare for Roman Reigns. However, before moving on to that part, it would be unfair not to mention that he put away Bronson Reed in a fantastic 22-minute opener to kick off the Paris-hosted WWE PLE. Shortly after that, ‘The OTC’ confronted a dejected Paul Heyman and got his pair of sneakers back from The Oracle’s custody.
Reigns ultimately choked Heyman out with a guillotine to get some sort of payback for his WrestleMania 41 betrayal. Just when the Samoan stalwart was celebrating with the French crowd atop the commentary table, he got speared by an unsighted Bron Breakker all the way down to the floor. The fans had figured out that Reigns was in for a long night once Breakker made his presence known at ringside.
THE VISION HAS TAKEN OUT ROMAN REIGNS.

‘The Unpredictable Badass’ went over to check on Heyman in the ring and escorted him to the back alongside Reed. The former NXT Champion felt the itch to cut Reigns in half with his spear once again. As a result, Breakker steamed toward Reigns, who was walking gingerly, and took him out for a second time. Then came Reed’s turn to dish out a brutal tsunami on the former Bloodline boss.

ANOTHER TSUNAMI to Roman Reigns and Jey Uso has seen ENOUGH! pic.twitter.com/0nehjdDwFc
Raw GM Adam Pearce was out in full force along with other WWE officials. They made the call for Reigns to be stretchered out of the arena. But little did they know that ‘The Auszilla’ wasn’t done just yet. He went on to deliver a couple more tsunamis on an already wrecked Reigns.
Even though Jey Uso did arrive at his cousin’s aid, that did not make much difference. ‘The Tribal Chief’ may have won the match he was in, but what followed that is likely to relegate him to the sidelines once again.
Roman Reigns to go on a WWE hiatus for Street Fighter commitment after the Clash in Paris beatdown
It’s no secret that Roman Reigns secured the role of villain Akuma in the live-action-based Street Fighter movie. He was slated to begin filming for it in early September. And if one looks at it, the magnitude of the assault he went through after beating Bronson Reed at Clash in Paris would now make sense.

As per PWInsider, the angle was done to write Reigns off WWE television so that he can be on the sets of Street Fighter until the week of 9/26. The former Undisputed WWE Champion will wrap it up by late September if the movie’s production stays on track. Reigns’ on-screen rival, Cody Rhodes, is already in Australia for his role in the same movie.

It was recently revealed that they are pretty much working the same dates on the movie set, and the fans could even expect a crossover in some capacity from these WWE stars. There’s no update on whether Reigns would be immediately called back by WWE once he gets this commitment out of the way.
Roman Reigns paid tribute to his father and uncle at Clash in Paris
Roman Reigns received the loudest and potentially the most sustained crowd reaction for a single entity at Clash in Paris. Before things went haywire for the Pensacola-born wrestler, something during his entrance to the ring caught everybody’s attention. It had to do with the two Ula Falas he was wearing last night.

As noted by Michael Cole, the ‘OTC1’ was paying homage to his late father and uncle, viz., Sika and Afa. Both of them passed away within two months of each other last year in a devastating loss to the legendary Anoa’i family. It was actually befitting to see Reigns acknowledging his elders on national television.

In late 2020, Afa and Sika made a rare WWE appearance at Hell in a Cell to bestow the revered Samoan garland upon Reigns to officially declare him as the ‘Tribal Chief’. The latter would then embark on one of the most iconic heel runs in WWE history. A major selling point of that period was his historic 1316-day world title reign that came to a halt at last year’s WrestleMania.
