Shortly after breaking his right foot off a top-of-the-cage tsunami at Survivor Series, Bronson Reed posted that injuries are temporary but moments are forever. Donning that sort of never-say-die attitude, the 36-year-old underwent successful surgery on Tuesday. Taking it to X, Reed posted a picture of himself on the hospital bed, saying he’s on the road to “f**k sh*t up.”
Last Friday on SmackDown, WWE aired footage showing how Reed completely twisted his foot upon landing, breaking it off the bone. Having said that, he’s set to miss months of action. What’s even worse is that in every sense of possibility, he doesn’t seem to be making it to WrestleMania 41 either after being left out of last year’s edition as well.
Per WrestleVotes, WWE is targeting May as his month of return, if not June. Bronson’s WarGames match inclusion at Survivor Series came out of nowhere, but it took a toll of all proportions on his body. He was Solo Sikoa‘s trump card to fend off the OG Bloodline, which was later joined by CM Punk. Despite Reed’s heroics, the more fancied team of Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Punk got the job done.
Had Punk not pulled Roman out of harm’s way, Reed would’ve landed on The OTC. That may have been catastrophic for the OGs. However, Punk’s veteran instincts saved the day for Roman and his Bloodline. Apart from this notorious WarGames match, Bronson Reed garnered headlines for his manhandling of Seth Rollins lately.
It all began when The Auszilla sent The Visionary packing to rehab after a callous beatdown on Raw in August. However, at Crown Jewel, Rollins avenged everything he’d gone through by pinning the Aussie bulldozer.
Amid injury woes, Bronson Reed praises his colleague on reaching major WWE accolade
Premature retirements in pro wrestling hurt the most. Some get to have a second inning in their careers, while others don’t. Current SmackDown commentator Corey Graves falls in the latter category.
Earlier today, he took to X to express gratitude for completing a decade of lending his voice to WWE shows. On December 11, 2014, Graves announced that he’d have to step away from in-ring competition. He had no backup plans whatsoever.
However, WWE offered him a commentary gig, and the rest is history. Bronson Reed, who’s grieving his own issues, went on to congratulate Corey. Reed wrote, “You a real one brother.” One might presume that the two share a wholesome bond off-camera. As Graves marches ahead to build upon his legacy, Bronson is off for a few months away from the ring.
