In back-to-back weeks, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings has made headlines for his antics more than his play.

Jauan Jennings is a stellar wide receiver and has used his toughness and glue-like hands to become one of the San Francisco 49ers’ best targets. Against the vaunted Cleveland Browns defense, his skills were going to become handy.

The 28-year-old did not have that great a game numbers-wise, as he could just haul in passes for 39 yards. But he did score a touchdown for his team, as they scored in every quarter to upset the home team.

The stud Browns defense could not seem to stop the Bay Area-based team, as their mistakes allowed the 49ers to take the flight back home as winners.

In the midst of this, the home team also lost starting defensive tackle Maliek Collins to a quad injury. While the standout D-lineman was on the ground clutching his quad, Jauan Jennings allegedly said something that irked Browns players.

He’s a h**, and I want that known. I see why he got punched in the nuts. He said some things that you should not say to another man, ever. I don’t respect it because you say it and run behind your o-line. That’s some real soft s**t, and I want that known.

Shelby Harris told reporters

This reply makes it clear that the veteran defensive tackle was incensed by the 49ers’ star taunting a fallen athlete, who also happened to be Jauan Jennings’ teammate last season.

Shelby Harris believes this type of behavior goes to prove that, probably, Tre’von Moehrig was right to punch the wide receiver in his groin, as he was possibly ticked off by Jennings’ trash talk.

Myles Garrett adds onto Shelby Harris’ opinion on Jauan Jennings

Other than the reporters in the locker room, there were others in the Browns’ media room, where they first spoke with starting QB Shedeur Sanders and head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Then, when it was Myles Garrett‘s turn, reporters asked the superstar pass rusher about the altercation involving his teammates and Jauan Jennings, as he was bang in the middle of it.

If you have nothing good to say, don’t say something to somebody. He had a lot to say that was demeaning and disparaging towards some of our players, and I was trying to separate everybody.

Myles Garrett replied

The league’s leading sack artist seemingly pointed fingers at the 49ers’ wideout’s upbringing while revealing what went down. He then mentioned that it might work for Jennings’ team, but it was not the right thing to do as opponents.

The Browns do not often face the 49ers. That could save the 7th-round pick from retaliation. However, this makes it two incidents in two weeks, and other players might be taking notes.

Jauan Jennings’ 49ers teammates did not follow his lead after Maliek Collins’ injury

Jennings might have added to his reputation as an ugly trash-talker with this incident. But his fellow San Francisco 49ers teammates did not follow his lead.

After Maliek Collins could not get up, the cart was called in. Then, when home fans started cheering and applauding the standout defensive tackle, his former teammates came over to show support.

From star left tackle Trent Williams, to guards Spencer Burford and Dominick Puni, to star tight end George Kittle, they all lined up to shake hands or pat him on his back.

After all, Collins was their teammate last season and was an integral part of their defense. Thankfully, their gesture ensured they were not part of Shelby Harris and Myles Garrett’s rants.

Collins’ injury will be evaluated, and then, a recovery timeline will be determined. The Browns certainly would have loved him to play, as he has racked up 6.5 sacks as part of that elite defense.
