Browns’ Jerry Jeudy Has a Cold 2-Word Response on the Challenges of Facing Ravens
Jerry Jeudy dropped a couple of passes that led to the Browns' defeat in week one, but he's confident that they will bounce back against the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens secondary doesn’t scare Jerry Jeudy. He’s eager to face the Cleveland Browns’ greatest foes in week 2. Jeudy made a big impact for the Browns last year, logging his first-ever 1000-yard season in an unsettled quarterback room. Analysts predicted Jeudy to experience an even better year with Joe Flacco as the new under center.
The Browns took on the Cincinnati Bengals in their opening day fixture. They led the Bengals by two points in the fourth quarter, but two minutes before the end of the third quarter, Cincy kicker Evan McPherson buried a field goal to snatch a one-point win.
Jeudy caught five passes for 66 yards. Despite digesting a defeat, the sixth-year receiver wants to build on last week’s positive performance, which they sorely lacked in 2024.
He will go up against the Baltimore Ravens secondary, comprised of Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Kyle Hamilton, Jaire Alexander, and Chidobe Awuzie. This lineup is widely viewed as one of the best in football. Jeudy’s not scared. During Wednesday’s media availability, he said that the Ravens’ secondary poses “no challenge” to him.

Jeudy fared well during his last two bouts against the Ravens. He logged 13 catches from 21 targets for 142 yards (13.1 yards per catch). However, there’s one area Jeudy and the rest of the Browns receivers must improve.
They need to limit the number of dropped catches that more or less cost them the Bengals game. At 4:53 minutes in the third, Bengals safety Jordan Battle produced the takeaway that led to McPherson’s field goal.

With no timeout remaining on 1 and 19 in the fourth quarter, Jeudy dropped the ball, which resulted in an interception by defensive end Joseph Ossai. He said after the final whistle:
If it touches my hands, I got to make that play no matter what. No matter where the ball’s at, if it touches your hands, you’ve got to make that play.
The Ravens, meanwhile, had a disappointing start to their season as well. They surrendered a 15-point lead against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and lost by one point. The secondary gave up 300+ yards and two touchdowns through the air (2 on the ground). Alexander allowed 83 yards (3 receptions) on him. It’s a great opportunity for Jeudy and the Browns to capitalize on the Ravens as they are at their most vulnerable.
Jerry Jeudy must assume the role of WR1 for the Browns
Jeudy has had a roller coaster career so far. One moment, he pulls off a one-handed blinder, and the next, he is credited for dropping chances that cost valuable wins.

He entered the NFL through the Denver Broncos, who drafted him 15th overall. Jeudy shared snaps with Courtland Sutton, and while he thrived, the Alabama graduate showed promise in pockets.
The Broncos traded Jeudy to the Browns in 2024 after declining to trigger his fifth-year option. He signed a three-year, $58 million contract extension with the Browns, with $41 million guaranteed, to lead the attack for the Cleveland franchise. His first year ended with 90 receptions for 1229 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Jeudy is clearly the number one in Cleveland, with Cedric Tillman acting as number two. Tillman, a third-round pick out of Tennessee, scored three touchdowns from 24 receptions in 9 games last campaign. The Ravens are the heavy favorites to win against the Browns this weekend. Vegas oddsmakers gave the Baltimore team -800 on the money line, and Cleveland is +550 (Ravens 12.5-point favorites).
