NASCAR Cup series sole black athlete Bubba Wallace has named seven times Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton as one of the big names he likes to see race for them in NASCAR. He wants Hamilton to drive the No:67 Toyota Camry, the third car fielded by 23XI Racing for part-time entrants.

The 23XI Racing is the NASCAR Cup Series outfit owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin. It’s one of the fastest-growing teams in the series, currently fielding two full-time cars alongside the part-time entry. Hamilton has a good relationship with Jordan, and it will not be a big surprise to see him one day race for them.

23XI recently announced that former F1 driver and road racing star Kamui Kobayashi would drive the No:67 car at the Indy Road Course event this year. So during his media availability before the Sonoma Cup race, Wallace was asked to name a big name he wishes to see racing for 23XI. After thinking for some time, he named Hamilton, and his teammate Tyler Reddick backed him by saying, “It’s a good choice”.
