Millions of fans have been tuning into the WNBA to catch Caitlin Clark go off on opponents with her trademark long-range three-pointers.
The way she effortlessly makes them is why NBA fans wanted her to be a part of the All-Star weekend in a gender clash three-point contest involving Stephen Curry, Sabrina Ionescu, and possibly Klay Thompson.
That did not work out as the 24-year-old wanted to make her debut in that format at home in Indianapolis this past year when her team organized the WNBA’s All-Star weekend.
Injuries stopped that from happening, and since then, Clark has been resting to help her legs recover. But she can stand and talk, which is why NBC courted her to become a ‘special contributor’ when they debut Sunday Night Basketball.
The two-time All-Star was to appear on the court with NBC’s panel featuring host Maria Taylor, and Hall of Famers Carmelo Anthony and Reggie Miller. After having a blast with them before the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks game, Clark tweeted this:
I’m going to wear stilts next time.
Caitlin Clark wrote on X
She wrote this after watching a clip in which she is standing between Anthony and Miller, and looks extremely short compared to them. Caitlin Clark is listed at 6’0″, but looked a lot shorter against the two NBA greats who both stand at 6’7″.

Even Maria Taylor looked significantly taller, as she is 6′ 2″. It seems the WNBA superstar learned her lesson and will carry a pair of stilts when she returns for the March 29th edition.
Caitlin Clark wants to learn from Luka Doncic
During their conversation, Maria Taylor asked Caitlin Clark if there was any skill from any NBA star that she wanted to add to her repertoire when she got back to the WNBA.

I think Luka. He’s amazing and incredible. The way he can not only score the ball but also the way he passes. The thing about him is he’s not the fastest, he’s not the most athletic. But he can get his defender to move where he wants them to go.
Caitlin Clark replied
The Iowa native went on to talk about how Luka Doncic likes to absorb contact and play through it. Clark hopes to play that way one day, as she revealed that she prefers to run away from defenders.

The Fever point guard then went on to talk about how the Lakers’ superstar averages 30-point triple-doubles with ease, which is something she would like to do in the WNBA.
Clark has a few triple-doubles to boast about, but clearly wants to become better. However, she reminded viewers that it is very difficult to achieve those numbers, even though the Slovenian manages to make it look easy.
‘Humble’ Caitlin Clark checks Carmelo Anthony’s Lakers’ suggestion
Towards the end of her time as a ‘special contributor’ for NBC, Maria Taylor thanked Caitlin Clark. Then, the NCAA all-time scoring leader talked about how it was great to be at Madison Square Garden to talk about two of the most popular teams in the league.
After she gave props to her favorite player of all time, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony cheekily suggested that the Fever star could play, too, if she wanted.
Aye, I’d get destroyed, Melo.
Caitlin Clark responded
Caitlin: “Now I get to enjoy this. I mean what’s better MSG, Sunday night, LeBron James, let’s go.”

The New York Knicks great was referring to recent conversations about how the Lakers should sign Caitlin Clark to a 10-day contract to help them with their shooting woes. But the women’s basketball superstar knew her place and reminded Anthony of that.
