Klay Thompson may not be the player he once was, but his relationship with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion has caught a lot of eyeballs over the past year or so. Thompson is coming off an off game against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. The four-time champion scored just nine points in the Dallas Mavericks’ 111-107 defeat to the Rockets at the Toyota Center.
The defeat to the Rockets extended the Mavs’ losing streak to four games. Their record dropped to 19-30 as they sit out of the play-in spots at 11th in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Rockets continued their fine form at home and improved their record to 30-17, finding themselves fourth in the standings.
Every day that Klay Thompson spends with Megan Thee Stallion, something headline-worthy ends up happening. Their relationship seems to have come a long way. The Mavs star renamed his 37-foot Finnish boat to ‘SS Stallion’, after his girlfriend.
The Grammy-winning artist has caught everyone’s attention, and she has been letting the public into her private life a lot more. She has showered her man with expensive gifts and posted a video on her Instagram page, where she has been cooking not just for her man, but also for his entire family for Thanksgiving.
But it appears that Klay’s relationship with Stallion got a big stamp of approval from his father, Mychal Thompson, who was a former NBA player himself. The two-time champion was seen eating a plate full of food cooked by Stallion and was impressed by her cooking skills.
You’re gonna be fat when y’all married. Stop with everything else, just open a cooking school. Just be a chef. That’s all you need to do.
Mychal Thompson kept it a buck with Klay 😭

Klay was seated opposite his father and seemed to be enjoying his meal. While the duo’s high-profile romance has been taking the NBA realm by storm, things just got better with Thompson’s dad giving the seal of approval.

Klay has had his fair share of relationships over the years, but it appears that this one may go all the way. And with Mychal mentioning marriage, it may not be long before the power couple ties the knot in the near future.
New role for Klay Thompson
For all his achievements during his time with the Warriors, Thompson has had a different role since joining the Mavs. He joined the team last season and was supposed to be more of a spot-up shooter as Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving handled the ball but a lot has changed since the Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.

Thompson is now starting from the bench, showing maturity and a fresh approach at 35 years old. The former All-Star has had his highs and lows this season, highlighting his inconsistency. He has struggled with his scoring and shooting as he currently averages a career-low 11.8 points per game while shooting at 38.9% from the field this season.
The guard has reacted positively to the change and expressed gratitude for playing time at this stage in his career, emphasizing his goal to be a consistent presence in the Mavs’ lineup regardless of starting status.
