- LeBron James continues to support Caitlin Clark as she prepares for her third WNBA season.
- Clark's head coach downplayed injury concerns, stating her leg sleeve is just a style choice.
- The upcoming season opener features Clark facing rival Paige Bueckers and a retooled Dallas Wings team.
Several players transition from college to the WNBA, but no one can claim to enjoy the support of LeBron James more than Caitlin Clark does.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been in the Iowa native’s corner ever since she declared for the 2024 draft. Whether it was pettiness from current and former players or pure disdain from others associated with the league, the King has always been there for her.
Whether it was celebrating an achievement or calling out her haters, James has generally been the voice of support at a time when the WNBA was experiencing tremendous growth. Now, he is back for more.
When Clark posted preview pictures of her in Indiana Fever colors as a preview ahead of her third season in the league, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer was there to give his stamp of approval. His comment on the post sent social media into a frenzy.

Last season, he did the same, but the point guard’s injuries did not help her achieve her goals. When she ended her season earlier than expected, James was there to offer support.
Earlier this year, when the Lakers’ superstar was at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to battle the Pacers, Clark was there as a celebrity photographer.
The wide smile on her face when Caitlin Clark made eye contact with LeBron James was evident in photos taken by the NBA’s designated photographers. Now, this comment might bring out another smile on her face, knowing her GOAT is hyping her before season 3.
Caitlin Clark’s head coach downplays injury concerns
While LeBron James and all of Caitlin Clark’s fans are hyped for her upcoming campaign, they have generally been watching her go through her paces at the Fever facilities.
But in the most recent practice videos posted on the team’s social media pages, something caused a stir online. The videos show Clark wearing a leg sleeve on her left leg. Since she struggled with soft tissue injuries last season, many commenting on those posts felt that she may have suffered a similar injury.
In their second preseason game, the 6’0″ guard limped away, but reiterated she had just landed on her knee awkwardly. That is why those posts garnered a lot of attention. But head coach Stephanie White assured it had nothing to do with an injury.
It’s a style thing. It looks good on her, doesn’t it?

This should give her fans time to catch their breath, as another injury would likely break their hearts. After finishing fourth in the MVP race in her rookie season, they have been eagerly waiting for Caitlin Clark to step up to snatch the award from the established greats.
Caitlin Clark and her Fever will find it tough against Paige Bueckers and her retooled Wings
If she has avoided injury, Caitlin Clark will prepare to face close friend and longtime rival Paige Bueckers in their season opener. The WNBA made it clear that the rivalry between these two guards was going to be the highlight of this season.

What the league did not anticipate was how well the Dallas Wings would retool the roster. They have two top-tier bigs to support Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, and this year’s first-overall pick, Azzi Fudd. Along with a deep supporting cast, this team could make some noise.
If their performances in the preseason were anything to go by, it seems the pressure will be on Caitlin Clark and her Fever to avoid a potential upset in front of their home fans.
The Wings are still learning each other’s ways. On the other hand, chemistry is not a problem for the home team. If they can go toe-to-toe with Bueckers and her team, expect Indiana fans to give Clark and her teammates the boost they need.
