Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, when NFL Scouts projected Cam Ward to mid-to-last-round pick, he decided to give himself another year, and it has paid him well. He finished the 2024 season as one of the finalists for the Heisman Trophy and among the top five draft projections.
Currently, the two teams in desperate need of quarterbacks are the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders but it seems the young quarterback is more inclined towards the former. When asked about the possibility of joining the Giants and why they should consider drafting him, Ward did not hold back from pitching himself as their top choice.
While addressing the media ahead of the Heisman ceremony on Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes standout quarterback– who finished the season with 4,123 yards with 36 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an 88.0 QBR, sent a message to the Giants General Manager Joe Schoen.
If Joe [Schoen] want to come get me, he knows what’s best. The tape says it all. You’re gonna get a competitor out of me, the city of New York. I won’t be in the city probably ever. I’ll stay in New Jersey for all day, every day. It’s too much out here. I’ll just be vibing and trying to make some football plays for the Giants.

If there’s anything Ward has in abundance is his confidence. Despite not winning the Heisman Trophy, he believes he is the best player at his position and can make any throw. His belief in himself has brought him where he is today and he plans to thrive on it in the league.
Shedeur Sanders emerges as leading QB prospect for Giants amid competition
As amazing as Ward would be for the Giants, they are also linked to Colorado star Shedeur Sanders who is also projected to be among the top five draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Finishing the season at 2-11, the team is projected to acquire a top-three pick next year and Sanders is said to be their top choice.

However, the Raiders are also searching for a potential franchise quarterback and the Tennessee Titans are newly emerging as another team in need of a quarterback because of Will Levis’ struggle on the field.
Before the 2025 Draft, the Buffaloes’ star quarterback is more focused on the upcoming bowl game in which his team qualified after four years of a struggling drought. Given, that he has decided for one last hurray rather than preparing for his draft selection and avoiding the risk of any pre-combine injury.
