Cameron Heyward entered the NFL as a first-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since then the defensive tackle has worn black and gold for 13 seasons and has plans to retire in the same colors.
Even though he is a three-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler, injuries have hampered his time on the field. Fans often call out the veteran defensive tackle and want him to be cut from the team for some new blood, but eventually, they come around because of his impact on the team.
Last season he had to miss out on 6 games after sustaining a head injury. Many perceived that it would be the end of his career in the NFL, but Heyward remains committed and is ready for season No. 14 with the Steelers. His ultimate goal is to retire with the Pittsburgh Steelers and perhaps win a Super Bowl.
On Sunday, Cameron Heyward disclosed his desires while wishing everyone a Happy Father’s Day.

The contract talks between him and the Steelers have stalled even though he wants to be a ‘one helmet guy.’ He will become a free agent in 2025 if the Steelers don’t show any urgency.
Before committing to Pittsburgh, Cam Heyward hinted at moving to the Browns in Cleveland
13 seasons is a long time in one place. A change of scenery is always good for shaking things up, and the thought of relocating did cross Heyward’s mind.
With no negotiations in sight, the 35-year-old had planned to move to Cleveland where his wife is from and play for the Cleveland Browns.
It could be fun to play somewhere else. If that is what is needed to be done, then so be it. my wife is from Cleveland. We will see. I am not trying to think about all that right now.Cam Heyward said according to Mark Kaboly of the Athletic
Heyward remained absent from the Steelers’ offseason training camps. If he continues to play under the same contract then he will earn $16 million this year. One thing is for sure he will not be retiring any time soon.
We will see what happens. But I can assure you this: I will be playing in 2025.Cameron Heyward said
