On a day when Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic thanked each other for their rivalry over the years, Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner also cherished their growing rivalry. The two players, after their faceoff in the Six Kings Slam final, heaped praise on each other.
While Sinner hoped that his rivalry with Alcaraz would last long, the Spaniard said he was grateful to have the Italian on the tour. The 21-year-old said that having Sinner as his rival keeps him on his toes and he devotes his 100% every day.
Alcaraz, who managed to beat the World No.1 three times in 2024, said that it’s a pleasure that he gets to share the court with Sinner.
Alcaraz said that he was hoping that their rivalry would get better with time and also promised that he would work hard to make it happen.

Jannik Sinner hails understanding with Carlos Alcaraz
While Carlos Alcaraz thanked Jannik Sinner for pushing him to do better, the Italian called Alcaraz his good friend. The World No. 1 said that the two players enjoy sharing the court.
The Italian hoped that their rivalry would last longer. The two players have played ten matches against each other so far and Alcaraz has won six of them. Although Sinner’s win in Riyadh won’t go in the official records, he would rejoice having broken the three-match losing streak against the Spaniard.
The World No. 1 came from behind to clinch the match. After losing the first set in the tiebreaker, Sinner stamped his authority in the next two sets, winning them 6-3, 6-3. The Italian took home a hefty prize money as well.
