Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will meet for the sixth time this season, but this time in the 2025 Six Kings Slam final on Saturday (October 18). The 22-year-old is seeking revenge at the tournament after losing to the Italian star in the final last year. He has revealed that he will play the final against Sinner like the way he plays on tour.

Alcaraz and Sinner have met in five finals this season, with the former winning four and losing just one. He has become a dominant figure in their head-to-head record as he currently leads Sinner 10-5. However, the Six Kings Slam final will not count towards the official record because it is an exhibition tournament.

Therefore, the tie has no impact on the year-end World No.1 battle, but it could give the winner a confidence boost going into the final stretch of the 2025 season. Alcaraz booked his place in the final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after beating Taylor Fritz in straight sets. It was his third meeting against Fritz in just a month.

Sinner then defeated Novak Djokovic in their semi-final clash on Thursday (October 18), 6-4, 6-2. It was Sinner’s second win at the tournament this year, having beaten Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the quarter-finals. The Italian is now seeking to win the humongous prize money ($6 million) for the second consecutive year.

However, Alcaraz also has an eye for the prize money and he’s seeking to win the title on Saturday (October 18). During his press conference at the event, he revealed that he will maintain his aggressive style of play against Sinner at the final. The World No.1 added that he’s still trying to adapt to the conditions in Riyadh:

I’m here with the goal of remaining as aggressive as I was in Tokyo. It’s true that the conditions are completely different, especially the altitude, which causes the balls to fly higher and bounce higher. I’m trying to adapt as best I can, but maintaining my aggressive approach, which is what can give me the best results at this stage of the season, I’m not at my best yet; I think the best version of myself is yet to come.

Alcaraz didn’t compete at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, so he’s coming into the tournament fresh off his Tokyo Open victory. He won his eighth title of the season at the ATP 500 tournament in Japan after beating Taylor Fritz in the final. The six-time Grand Slam winner twisted his ankle during his opening match, which made him withdraw from the Shanghai Masters.

Stefanos Tsitsipas backs Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to win up to ten Grand Slams

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the only players who have won Grand Slams in the men’s singles on tour in the past two seasons. The duo have won four each in two years and have met in the final of the last three major tournaments. Alcaraz currently leads in their head-to-head Grand Slam title record 6-4.

However, they have been dubbed to extend their tally to 20 Grand Slams on tour. During an interview with Tennis365, Stefanos Tsitsipas backed Sinner and Alcaraz to surpass 10 major titles. The Greek star added that he doesn’t know how many major titles the duo will end up winning in their careers:

I will not comment on that (how many Grand Slams Alcaraz and Sinner will win) because I’m not good at forecasting. I will just say that we will see Carlos and Jannik win many more Major titles. I’m pretty sure they will both collect over ten major crowns by the end of their careers.

Currently, Alcaraz is seeking to win the Australian Open to complete a Golden Grand Slam, while Sinner has to win the French Open to follow suit. The former could accomplish the feat in January next year in Melbourne, but he has never gotten past the quarter-finals of the tournament in his career.
