The US Open has ended, and Carlos Alcaraz has continued to cause a stir not because of his tennis but once again because of his hairstyle. A buzz cut, given to him by his brother Alvaro ahead of his first-round US Open match, had gone wrong, as a result of which, his head was completely shaved, which Frances Tiafoe called “horrible” and “terrible“.
But after his straight-set win over Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, Alcaraz declared that he would be undergoing a new makeover if he beats Jannik Sinner in the final. And he beat Sinner in four sets to improve his head-to-head record to 10-5 as well as clinch his second title at Flushing Meadows.
Alcaraz did not forget the promise. Once he landed in his hometown of El Palmar in Murcia, Alcaraz decided to have a new hairstyle. This time, instead of his brother, his barber Victor Martinez gave him a new look – a bold blonde look.
Martinez flew to Paris with Alcaraz for the Roland Garros and gave him a fade haircut. But as New York was too far away from Spain, Martinez did not go there with Alcaraz.
After Alcaraz’s latest cut, Martinez shared several pictures on Instagram, in one of which Alcaraz’s head could be seen wrapped with aluminium foil.
Men dress from the feet up and this guy keeps his word.. Number 1 again and new look @carlitosalcarazz we are crazy.

Alcaraz’s fans are unimpressed, at least some of them. One of his fans joked that Martinez would pay for his crime one day, while another joked, saying Alvaro’s work on Alcaraz’s head was a masterpiece as compared to the blonde look.
Patrick Mouratoglou lauds Carlos Alcaraz for his quick improvement in his game
Carlos Alcaraz has so far played seven Grand Slam finals and lost just once, to Jannik Sinner in this year’s Wimbledon. The defeat did him good, according to Serena Williams‘ former coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

I think this Wimbledon final was the best thing that happened to Carlos. He had the feeling that Jannik was really overpowering him, was playing faster than him, that he had no solutions, and I think it was a wake-up call for him.
Patrick Mouratoglou said on Instagram
Mouratoglou lauded Alcaraz for his serve as the 22-year-old won 98 out of his 101 service games, dropping a set in the entire tournament only when he faced Sinner. The Spaniard hit 10 aces in the final and was broken just once.
Carlos knew that he had to improve three things, the first one was his serve, the second one was the variety of his shots, and the third one was his attitude during the match. I know it can be shocking for people to think, ‘Wow, in three weeks, how can you make such a change, such an improvement?’. But this is the difference between top, top, top level and the other ones.
Patrick Mouratoglou added
In Grand Slam finals, Alcaraz is 2-1 against Sinner, winning the French Open as well as the US Open. The title in New York was his seventh one of the season, while his Big Title count is 14.
Sinner, the youngest man in the Open Era to play all four Major finals in a season, lifted only two titles, those came at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Next is the China Open, where both last year reached the finals, with the six-time Grand Slam champion ending the event in his favor to clinch his career’s first trophy on the Asian swing.
This year, Alcaraz and Sinner have already faced each other five times. The US Open title helped Alcaraz reach the No.1 rank once again.
