Carlos Alcaraz sends special message for ‘deserving’ US Open champion Jannik Sinner
Carlos Alcaraz congratulated Jannik Sinner after the Italian clinched his maiden title at the US Open by defeating Taylor Fritz in the final.

Jannik Sinner started the 2024 season by winning his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. On Sunday (September 8), he captured his maiden title at the US Open when the Italian defeated Taylor Fritz in the final.
Following Sinner’s victory, his rival cum friend Carlos Alcaraz sent him congratulations. The Spaniard shared a post on social media to acknowledge Sinner’s achievement. Alcaraz, one of the favorites to win the tournament, had bowed out of the event in the second round.

The two top players on the tour share a good bond, having been competitors since their days don’t he junior circuit. While they enjoy their rivalry on the court, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have always embraced their friendship off it.
Jannik Sinner dedicates his US Open win to “special person in his life”
With his US Open win, Jannik Sinner became only the fourth man in more than 50 years to win his first two Grand Slam titles in the same season. He is also the first from his country to win a title at the Flushing Meadows.
Amid these special moments, Sinner dedicated his win to a “special person” in his life. He dedicated his US Open win to his ailing aunt during his on-court interview. The Italian emphasized her importance in his life and got emotional while talking about her.
Later in his post-match press conference, Sinner talked about his special bond with his aunt and revealed how she would take care of him when his parents were not around.
Yeah, my aunt, she's a very important person, because when my parents, they were working every day and all day, so sometimes when I had to go to ski races, I went with her. She always helped me in summertime when my parents were working and I had some days off or free days. So I hang around a lot with her, and she's a very important person in my life.Jannik Sinner said

After dealing with the doping controversy before he got to New York, the Italian must be relieved to prove his mettle and also silence all the critics.
