Emma Raducanu was bashed and criticized by fans after pulling out from her mixed doubles match alongside British legend Andy Murray. Despite the 21-year-old explaining the reason for the decision, some fans did not accept them. However, Carlos Alcaraz has sympathized with young Brit.

The former US Open champion withdrew from the mixed doubles category due to a stiffness in her wrist. The 21-year-old was supposed to play alongside Murray in Court 1 at the All England Club but was canceled after she pulled out. The whole tennis world was looking forward to the match, which would have been Murray’s last set of matches at Wimbledon.

Murray had decided not to play in the singles, just a few days after undergoing a back surgery. However, he played the doubles match alongside his older brother Jamie Murray. Despite their loss, the match was special for the British legend as he was given a befitting farewell ceremony.

Nonetheless, Raducanu’s withdrawal from the mixed doubles match alongside Andy Murray made noise off the court, especially from fans and ticket holders.

It’s a difficult situation. She said she was going to play mixed doubles with Andy in the last Wimbledon of his career… I’m sure she didn’t want to pull out of the mixed doubles. She had her reasons to do it. I guess physical problems. I don’t know, she’s facing the 4th round of a Grand Slam at Wimbledon, I think it’s special for her playing in England. I’m sure a lot of players in her position would do the same thing as her.

Raducanu has struggled with injury since winning the US Open in 2021. Last year, she failed to participate in more than three tournaments and underwent surgery several times.

Emma Raducanu’s brilliant run at Wimbledon ended against an excellent qualifier, Lulu Sun

Emma Raducanu‘s brilliant run at Wimbledon came to an end yesterday after losing to New Zealand qualifier Lulu Sun in the fourth round. The British star has been phenomenal on grass, having played poorly on hard and clay courts this season.

She had beaten Maria Sakkari in the third round, her second Top 10 win on grass this season. However, against No.123 Sun, she was struggling a bit physically. Notwithstanding, she put in her best effort winning the second set to force the match into a deciding set. But, she was unable to keep up with the excellent performance from Sun, eventually losing 2-6, 7-5, 2-6.

Despite the loss, the crowd continued to cheer on their homegirl and even tried to encourage her through the pain. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be for Raducanu, who was beaten by the qualifier.
