Top tennis players gave fans a good laugh as they failed to identify the current Gen Z slang. Gen Z refers to the generation of people born from 1997 to 2012. They use certain phrases or words, also known as their slang, which can often baffle those not in the know.

Recently, a few tennis players took the challenge of figuring out their slang. The likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and others were put to the test and none of them were able to identify most of them.

Except for words like ‘vibing’ and ‘ghosting’, the players were clueless about the other words as they guessed wrong. Matteo Berrettini started sweating even before answering the questions.

In the video, Tsitsipas had the most clueless look on him. The funniest answer was given by Carlos Alcaraz, who misidentified the meaning of the word salty and took it in the very literal sense.

Salty, something with a lot of salt.

This video proved once again how different these new terms and phrases are for the players. Nonetheless, fans as always loved the pre-tournament video and found it pretty hilarious.

Last year, there were some epic matches and the event this year began similarly. The first round already saw some talented Americans out of the mix. Two of the top Americans, Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul, lost in the opening round.

The second round sees the seeded players get involved in the action. Top seed Jannik Sinner is set to play his first match against Alex Michelsen on Wednesday, August 14. A few more great matches are also lined up as the tennis fans prepare for a month of great tennis.
