Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz is ready to defend his title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. The 21-year-old is also sending a warning to his rivals, claiming to be more mature on grass than last year.
Notably, Alcaraz is said to have practiced against Daniil Medvedev on the Center Court. The Spanish ace looked good in his session, claiming the first set while leading in the second one. He says that while winning the tournament before Wimbledon last year helped him prepare for the challenge that awaited him at the Grand Slam tournament, this year he has had good practice sessions. Alcaraz is backing himself to go all the way at the Championships this year too and hopes for a repeat from last year.
I try do the same things as last year. But obviously, I had good preparation and good practice with really great players. Obviously, last year, I had a great run at Queen's that helped me realize what position was my level and realize what game I have to play here on grass. But this year, with all the practices, I think I am ready and hopefully, go far in this tournament.Carlos Alcaraz said while talking to Sky Sports
