While former WWE chair Vince McMahon comes off as an extremely polarizing entity most of the time, he still has people vouching for him. The lawsuit-facing business magnate was recently brought up by one of his former WWE employees, Leah Van Dale, better known by her ring name, Carmella. She was let go by WWE in February 2025 as her contract expired.

The Staten Island Princess told Sports Illustrated that she loved working under McMahon. She didn’t discard the heinous charges Vinnie Mac was currently facing, but decided to elaborate more on her personal working experience with the 79-year-old. Dale asserted that The Genetic Jackhammer would always make the time for talent and listen to what they had to say.

……….I feel so grateful for the time to learn from him. His mind is so…I don’t even know the word to explain it. His mind for this business is so incredible……..

She continued by saying that McMahon was quite receptive to the ideas. Take, for instance, Carmella was the one who pitched forming an on-screen alliance with James Ellsworth, and McMahon loved it eventually. He was the reason behind Mella’s exploits in the inaugural women’s Money in the Bank ladder match that she won due to Ellsworth’s help. The Moonwalking Trash-Talking Chick revealed that Mr. McMahon was heavily involved in the first promo that she cut after becoming Ms. MITB in 2017.

It’s fair to say that the 37-year-old wrestler experienced her heyday under McMahon’s regime. Carmella was mostly on the sidelines once Triple H took over as the WWE CCO. She also slammed the company’s treatment of her while she was harboring postpartum complications. Van Dale accused WWE of ghosting her after notifying the former women’s champion about her contractual deadline.

John Cena has reaffirmed his backing of Vince McMahon

As mentioned above, it’s rare nowadays to find someone with undying allegiance to Vince McMahon after everything the latter’s been accused of. However, the former WWE CEO has a lifelong supporter in John Cena. The Peacemaker actor was recently asked whether he regrets backing McMahon or the obvious discourse that comes along.

The Undisputed WWE Champion claimed that everyone is entitled to their opinions. Cena didn’t downplay the legal quagmire McMahon’s crippled with but added that he loves the ill-famed business tycoon wholeheartedly.

The Cenation Leader scaled unprecedented heights when Vinnie Mac was the creative lead of the company. The success of Cena as the babyface remains the biggest success of McMahon after The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin left in the early 2000s.

At WrestleMania 41, the Massachusetts-born star won his seventeenth world title in WWE. By doing so, he pipped Ric Flair from the pole position in the list of wrestlers with the most number of world title reigns, as recognized by WWE.

One could also deduce that Cena has always been loyal to McMahon, who put his money on a man who was barely adept in freestyling at one point in his career. But Cena always credits McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, for once eavesdropping on his rapping acumen, which eventually saved Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect from his WWE ouster.

Vince McMahon briefed ex-WWE star on making Roman Reigns the next John Cena

Vince McMahon‘s constant push for Roman Reigns to be the next big thing in WWE was evident from the get-go. Current AEW figure Bryan Danielson, the erstwhile Daniel Bryan, once told TMZ Sports what McMahon had in mind for The OTC. A week after Bryan won the WWE title at WrestleMania 30, he had a sit-down conversation with the ex-WWE chairman.

McMahon relayed to The American Dragon that he wouldn’t hold on to that belt for too long. In fact, McMahon was planning for the annihilation of Bryan at the hands of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2014. The Beast would’ve eventually feuded with Reigns and dropped the world title to him.

McMahon added that he wanted to position Reigns as the next John Cena. After listening to it, Bryan retorted that he’d love to be in that position as well, but the WWE founder backpedaled and claimed that there can be no one like the next Cena. The American Dragon found it extremely hilarious that, for once in his life, McMahon retracted his statement.
