“Carmelo Anthony? He too?”- Injuries/Illness continue to augment LA Lakers’ Worry as Star players could miss out against Celtics

Carmelo Anthony

Injuries have been acting like a sledgehammer to the LA Lakers as their star player Carmelo Anthony may miss the upcoming home matches. “Melo” is playing his nineteenth NBA Season, and his resume is adorned with a long list of achievements. Being drafted in 2003 by the Denver Nuggets he went on to play for Teams like New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers before and finally coming to the LA Lakers.

Not long ago he was named as the NBA Greatest 75 Players List. Well, he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. People were hesitant with his move to the LA Lakers as the roster is already star-studded and he getting on the same bus would surely mean a compromise for his talent. Though the deal is just of a year still the man needs the required space to showcase his skillet.

The 37-year-old is an asset for teams he played for so far but with each passing year, his playing time is being reduced. He has averaged 14.3 points this season with the Lakers within the average 14.64 minutes he gets on the court.

Carmelo Anthony has been put under ‘questionable’ regarding his position on the Lakers roster for the Tuesday match against the Boston Celtics. Along with Carmelo, the power duo LeBron James and Anthony are also listed on the Injury report.

Lakers have been hit hard with injury reports and inconsistency. Even if one decided to leave the other stays; stays real close. The superstar team who was one of the top favorites for this season’s trophy is just putting up substandard performance on the court, and the fans are reluctant to be hopeful now. The league is entering its 3rd month and the Lakers are yet to find a strong footing.

The Boston Celtics have made the Lakers taste an embarrassing defeat when they last met. They blew the Lakers off in a game of 130-108 even though the Lakers had a 26 point lead. Tuesday’s match may write the opposite of their last encounter but considering the situation of the Lakers, it seems arduous.

Kyle Goon posted a picture on Twitter showing the newly updated list of Lakers Injury Report, and how Carmelo Anthony is added to the list for flu-like symptoms unrelated to COVID.

The Lakers Nation took on the BlueBird App to send prayers and well wishes to the 10 Time All-Star Carmelo Anthony.
