At last night’s NXT Halloween Havoc PLE, Kelani Jordan defended the Women’s North American Championship in a gauntlet match against Fatal Influence. After putting away two-thirds of the group, Jordan lost against the third member, Fallon Henley. As such, her 140-day title reign officially came to an end. Following the loss, Jordan’s boyfriend, Carmelo Hayes, lauded her on social media.

The SmackDown star took to X to praise Kelani’s performance at Halloween Havoc. Moreover, Hayes further applauded the inaugural champion’s reign. Due to the Spinner’s Choice condition, Jordan walked into the event without knowing which Fatal Influence member she’d be facing. Unfortunately, the trio chose a stipulation that almost guaranteed a loss for the 26-year-old.

Kelani Jordan broke silence on losing the belt as well on social media, expressing her gratitude to the fans. Jordan became the first-ever North American Women’s Champion at Battleground in June. Jordan went on to have a successful title reign, defeating Michin, Sol Ruca, Wendy Choo, and Wren Sinclair. Needless to say, she has managed to impress fans over the past four months or so during her run.

Meanwhile, Hayes continues to assert his place on the blue brand as one of the most talented stars on the roster. Since debuting on the main roster, HIM has fought against the likes of Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles, even defeating the latter a few weeks ago. Despite that, his most notable work has come against Andrade, seemingly concluding their highly acclaimed seven-match series on last week’s SmackDown.

Carmelo Hayes set for triple-threat action at WWE Crown Jewel

The rivalry between Carmelo Hayes and Andrade has undoubtedly been one of SmackDown’s prominent showcases. Over the past few weeks, LA Knight has gotten involved in the mess as both stars have lined themselves up to become the next United States Champion.

This led to Knight refereeing the seventh match on the latest episode of SmackDown. After both Hayes and Andrade laid hands on the official, the latter had enough. The Megastar hit the duo with BFTs before declaring the bout a no contest.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis took issue with the ending to the match series. Aldis berated Knight backstage later on in the show. More importantly, he announced that the erstwhile Eli Drake would defend his title against Andrade and Hayes at the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE.
