Casper Ruud is yet to make any comment on Jannik Sinner‘s controversial three-month ban verdict. But a report had claimed that the Norwegian had supported Sinner and expressed his hope to see the World No.1 make a strong comeback following the ban.
The WADA imposed a three-month ban on Sinner after reaching a settlement agreement with him just before the scheduled hearing before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). WADA had stayed resolute in their stance that Sinner should receive a ban of between one and two years due to the negligence of his team members before shocking the tennis world by withdrawing their CAS appeal.
WADA’s judgment divided the tennis community and those who provided Sinner with unwavering support, started to question the timing of his ban. The anti-doping body is accused of conveniently handling Sinner’s case as the World No.1 won’t be forced to pull out of the Grand Slam tournaments. Amidst all sorts of reactions, Ruud’s comments surfaced.
I know Jannik very well. I am with him. I think he’s a good guy. Of course after this, he will be the best player in the world.
Casper Ruud was quoted as saying by Le Parisien
Ruud criticized the outlet for making false claims on his X handle. In another tweet, Ruud said he would be addressing the doping saga at the press conference in Acapulco.
Hey guys! Just wanted to say that I never said this. I was asked about the case last week, and simply said I didn’t have any comments as I hadn’t read the full statement at that point. Very bad and untrustworthy journalism.

Jannik Sinner’s complicated doping case will end on May 4
Jannik Sinner will breathe a sigh of relief after May 4, as he won’t have to deal with the doping scandal anymore. Italy’s Davis Cup captain Filippo Volandri made his feelings known about the three-month suspension.

At least now we can say that this story is over, it’s an injustice not to see [Jannik Sinner] play for three months, but the only positive aspect is that at least for him this complicated period is over.
Filippo Volandri told SuperTennis
Sinner was part of Italy’s two back-to-back successful campaigns. Following last year’s Davis Cup, the 23-year-old started the 2025 season at the Australian Open and won his first title with a straight-set victory over Alexander Zverev in the final.
He was then scheduled to play Rotterdam Open but he pulled out of the ATP 500 event. The three-time Grand Slam champion is expected to make his comeback at the Italian Open which starts on May 7.
