CeeDee Lamb has returned to the Dallas Cowboys facility a happy man. He recently signed a remarkable four-year contract for $136 million, which has made him one of the highest-paid wideouts in league history. Although Lamb’s contract is no longer an issue, his quarterback Dak Prescott‘s future remains uncertain as he awaits a lucrative extension offer.

A wide receiver understands the value of keeping the right quarterback around, which is why CeeDee Lamb is doing his part to keep Dak Prescott happy to continue representing the star. When asked by the media regarding the quarterback’s ongoing contract situation, Lamb praised Prescott’s professionalism and leadership skills.

Dak is doing a great job of not really bringing it into the workspace, but I know personally that it could take a toll on him, but he's doing a great job of leading us in the right direction.

His unwavering support towards Prescott comes as no surprise. During Lamb’s holdout, the quarterback remained supportive of his wideout and kept it no secret that he hoped for him to get his money. Lamb is just returning the favor.

Dak Prescott is likely to test free agency if the Dallas Cowboys fail to offer him a lucrative deal

Lamb’s comments have merit to them. Dak Prescott has continued to be the ideal face of the Dallas Cowboys franchise. He is a true professional and never allows his issues with the team to impact his preparedness and performance on the field.

This time, Dak Prescott is in a different situation. Considering the quarterback deals that have taken place this offseason, he is on the lookout for a contract which is likely to be around $60 million per year. A number that he has every right to ask after a stellar MVP season, but a number the Cowboys remain reluctant to offer as it would impact the contract they intend to offer Micah Parsons.

Prescott’s performance this season will be the deciding factor on whether the Cowboys are willing to pay him on a long-term basis or if they will move on. This season, along with the quarterback, head coach Mike McCarthy’s job remains on the line. The Cowboys begin their 2024-25 season campaign on Sunday as they take on the Cleveland Browns.
