Bill Belichick is taking his post-NFL coaching career to the next level. He has finally joined social media.

The 8x Super Bowl-winning coach avoided the world of the internet for a long time, but it appears he is willing to finally give it a shot. During his regular appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Bill Belichick broke the big news.

Coach, before we go, I do believe you have an announcement to make… a lot of announcements, but this one is a big one, I do believe. I am hearing what I think you are about to say correctly. Bill, any announcement for the people?
McAfee asked Belichick.
You know, Pat [McAfee], I can’t believe I am really doing this, but I have joined INSTAFACE.
Belichick replied.

While McAfee might come off as slightly over the top with his congratulations, it’s better to keep in mind that Belichick prefers keeping things private. However, some are pointing toward his new girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, who may have had a part to play in suddenly getting active on social media.

Belichick’s first post on Instagram

Belichick’s first post on Instagram was a welcome note addressed to his fans. He is currently following Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Jordan Hudson, and a few others.

Hey everyone. Surprised to see me here? Well, I am too. Over the past few months, not being with a team, I haven’t had the opportunity to express my thoughts on a moment's notice. So now I am changing that. I tried to join SNAPFACE, but I couldn’t find it. I decided this [Instagram] was a good place for me to land so I can talk to you and share what I am up to because there’s a lot going on. So here I am—hello, INSTAFACE.

Perhaps Hudson should have told him to look for ‘Snapchat’ instead of ‘Snapface.’ Regardless, Belichick regularly interacting with fans is an amazing development.

As he highlighted, this year is the first time in over three decades that he is without a coaching job in the NFL. Usually, he would be busy making plans to win the Super Bowl with his team, but after he left the Patriots last season, no other teams showed interest in offering him a job. Now Belichick is a regular in the Pat McAfee show and continues to appear everywhere with his 24-year-old girlfriend.

There are rumors, however, that Belichick may return to coaching in 2025. Several current head coaches are on the hot seat and a bad season could cost them their jobs. Brian Daboll in the New York Giants and Mike McCarthy at the Dallas Cowboys are the two prime candidates, Belichick is pipped to replace if anything goes south. Belichick hasn’t addressed the rumors and judging by his recent activities he is happy with his life.
