Former MMA fighter Chael Sonnen wants Nick Diaz to make his return to Combat Sports, albeit in a boxing match. And, his opponent? – Jake Paul! Jake Paul has been in the thick of things, he’s literally the embodiment of ‘All Eyes on Me’, right now. The YouTube sensation has found himself a new home, in Boxing. He is currently 2-0 in his professional boxing career, with his most recent victory coming against Ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
Elsewhere, Nate Diaz’s older brother, Nick Diaz recently revealed his shredded physique, sparking rumors of a comeback. Speaking about this in his own channel, Chael Sonnen felt that Nick Diaz would be better off fighting Jake Paul.
“And if Nick Diaz doesn’t have a contract and I’m managing him….” – Chael Sonnen
Chael Sonnen spoke of how he would handle the current Nick Diaz situation, saying, “And if he (Nick Diaz) doesn’t have a contract and I’m managing him, I’m not bringing him back to MMA. I’m bringing him in to take on Jake Paul. If he (Nick Diaz) has a free contract as it sits right now, he’s in shape, he’s weighing around 170, (then) I’m getting him the Jake Paul fight.” [via Sportskeeda]
He further added, “I’m gonna get him training. I’m gonna get him to do a weigh-in. I’m gonna get him to go out and compete. I’m gonna get him a jackpot full of money and then I’m gonna bring him back over to MMA. If I’m the manager, that’s the way I’m going to do it. And it seems as though there’s some good options out there right now.” [via Sportskeeda]
“So the manager is saying that he is 99.99 percent sure that Nick Diaz is going to fight in 2021. Okay, fine. Let me tell you something I’m a hundred percent sure of: If Nick Diaz does not come back and fight in 2021, Nick Diaz is going to have nothing to come back to.” [via Sportskeeda]
Do you agree with Chael Sonnen? Should Nate Diaz fight Jake Paul? How will the fight pan out, if the two face-off?
