Champions League: Istanbul Basaksehir v PSG match report
PSG debuted their PSG x Jordan third kit in the match against Istanbul Basaksehir

PSG travelled to face Istanbul Basaksehir after their loss to Manchester United in their group stage opener. The latter had lost to RB Leipzig and were looking to start their progress in the group. However things are easier said than done for the Turkish side as this group contains last year’s finalist and semi-finalist and also a previous winner of the trophy.

Match Report:

PSG started the match strongly, but lost Neymar to injury in the 26th minute of the match. He was replaced by Pablo Sarabia as he suffered an adductor injury. This injury complicates Brazil’s problems as they are already without Philippe Coutinho and Fabinho for their matches against Venezuela and Uruguay.

Moise Kean scored two goals and Kylian Mbappe got two assists. The former scored his first goal from a corner taken by the latter in the 64th minute. Again in the 79th minute Mbappe made a pass which Kean finished with a header. This win gave PSG three points and took them to second place in Group H, ahead of RB Leipzig by goal difference. RB Leipzig suffered a heavy defeat at Manchester United’s hands and will play PSG in a double header.

Thomas Tuchel said that Neymar’s substitution was mere caution and nothing else. He couldn’t continue playing with an injury like that and it was better to replace him. Nevertheless his absence wasn’t felt too much as Mbappe and Kean finished things for PSG. They will look to bridge the gap between Manchester United and take top spot in the group by defeating RB Leipzig.
