Charles Barkley could set up own version of Inside the NBA with Shaquille O’Neal and others

Charles Barkley has pitched the idea to Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson to create their own version of Inside the NBA

The Inside the NBA is the most popular show for any basketball fan. But most likely it will end as TNT has not shown any interest in continuing as the exclusive broadcaster of the NBA. That has left almost everybody in the sports circles to talk about it. But there is a glimmer of hope as Charles Barkley could end up setting up his own version of the show with Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.

Barkley was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show earlier today. While talking about the show, host Dan Patrick asked the former MVP if he or his colleagues had thought about creating their own show. Barkley said;

Well I've talked to the guys about everybody signing with my production company, cause I have my own production company. I would love to do that. Actually, somebody suggested that to me on the internet. 'So why don't y'all sign these 4 guys total and sell it'. That's a great idea.

Barkley would love to go ahead with the idea as not only will it allow them to continue as long as they can. But also help all of their staff to come over instead of losing their jobs.

The idea Patrick suggested was based on the notion that Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal have enough money to invest and start their own show. Having one’s own version of the Inside the NBA means complete control over content and what will be shown to the public. Selling the rights gives them options for the future.

It will help them to create the best show possible and not bother about the continuity of the show once one of them thinks of retiring. They just need to get Kenny Smith and, most importantly, Ernie Johnson on board.

Charles Barkley admitted the crew’s morale is low

Dan Patrick also asked the Round Mound of Rebound at the start of the show about the morale amongst the crew.

Morale s*cks, plain and simple. I just feel so bad for the people I work with Dan. These people have families, and I just really feel bad for them right now. You know these people I work with, they screwed this thing up clearly. And we don't have zero idea what's gonna happen. I don't feel good, I'm not gonna lie.
Charles Barkley replied

The Hall of Famer was worried about the 200 colleagues who could lose their jobs. Many of them have worked for a long time alongside the quartet.

He said that the support staff are like family to him. Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and himself have worked for almost three decades. Shaquille O’Neal came in later, but still has become an integral part of that family. During that time, they have witnessed many of their colleagues and their children growing up. They all know it will most likely come to an end, causing the overall morale to drop.

That is when Patrick suggested creating a separate show and moving everyone there. Barkley is open to the idea and will wait on what his colleagues say.
