Charles Barkley SLAMS ‘punks, idiots, and jacka**es’ wanting Darvin Ham to be fired from Lakers team
Charles Barkley blamed the players for the Lakers and Suns' poor season.
Charles Barkley defended Darvin Ham and Frank Vogel from other NBA analysts.
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns’ season ended in the first round of playoffs this year. As both the teams received a lot of criticism from the NBA community, the team’s coaches were the victims of the most hatred. Being upset by this, NBA veteran Charles Barkley came to the coaches’ defense during Inside the NBA.
Darvin Ham has been in hot water with the Lakers fans and analysts for a long time during this season. After the team’s exit from the playoffs, the criticism went to an extent where the coach’s dismissal from the position was demanded. This did not sit well with Charles Barkley as he called out the critics on TNT.
For all you punks, idiots, and jacka**es on other networks who want to be in media and want all the players to like y'all, do your damn job. The Lakers suck and the Suns suck because of their players. It has nothing to do with the coaches.Charles Barkley Inside the NBA
Barkley praised both Ham and Frank Vogel‘s coaching and stated that the parties that formed the rosters were the real problem. The Hall of Famer never hesitates to state his opinion as he brutally called out the other NBA analysts for their dishonest takes to strive for popularity.
Even if the coaches were at fault to an extent, putting the entire blame on them is unreasonable. Immediately after the first-round losses, rumors regarding both coaches’ departure from their respective teams started circulating. While this was Vogel’s first season with the Suns, Ham coached his second season for LA.
Charles Barkley predicted the Lakers and Suns downfall earlier this season
Despite being a Phoenix Suns legend, Barkley has called out the team throughout this season. The star was also under controversy for his remarks about Kevin Durant not being a leader for Phoenix. Chuck revealed he had lost faith in the team before the playoffs started while attending a NCAA game.
They're not gonna figure it out. They don't have mental toughness. The leaders are not leading. You're not gonna turn it around this late in the season.Charles Barkley Inside the NBA
On the other hand in March, Barkley during Inside the NBA called out the other NBA analysts for believing in the Los Angeles Lakers while they were the 9th seed in the Western Conference. Chuck had no belief in the team’s play-in tournament potential.
The idiots on the other network keep talking about the Lakers and the Warriors like they have a chance.Charles Barkley Inside the NBA
In conclusion, Barkley was right. Even after the Lakers made it out of the play-in tournament, the team was almost swept by the Denver Nuggets. Despite the Suns avoiding the play-in, the team got swept by the Timberwolves to end their season.
