Charles Barkley trolls the Minnesota Timberwolves suggesting they will be swept by the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals
With the way the Western Conference Finals are going, the Dallas Mavericks already have one foot in the NBA Finals. Even though the Minnesota Timberwolves stars are suggesting they are looking to rewrite history by being the first team ever to come back from a 0-3 record in the playoffs, it is a massive mountain to climb. Charles Barkley knows this and decided to troll them after wrapping up the Inside the NBA segment yesterday.
While leaving the arena, he first exchanged pleasantries with a fan. Then while walking away he couldn’t help himself sneaking in a potshot.
We are one day away from vacation, y’all. I’m in a great mood. One more day I’ll be on vacation for 4 months.Charles Barkley said
This is coming from a person who has seen what happens in the playoffs for over 40 years. Both as a player and an analyst. He knows the Minnesota Timberwolves cannot come back and take the series. In fact, he is sure that the way they are playing, the Dallas Mavericks will sweep them with a win in the next game.
Leave Charles Barkley to troll whenever he gets a chance. However, that troll does not come from merely thinking about what could happen. He knows the Timberwolves have not adjusted to the way the Mavericks play. Leaving them vulnerable going into the 4th quarter.
With Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks have two of the best closers in the game. Therefore, an already exhausted Timberwolves do not have what it takes to deal with them and make it to the NBA Finals. No wonder Barkley brought out the trolls.
Charles Barkley was critical of the way the Minnesota Timberwolves play
Charles Barkley was critical of the way the Minnesota Timberwolves have been playing. He feels that having their two big players Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony-Towns on the court at the same time is affecting them negatively. The formula may have worked against the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets.
However, the Mavericks play a much smaller lineup who are spread out on the court. Something that automatically renders the two-big-man lineup ineffective. Barkley feels that the Timberwolves should have started Anthony-Towns and kept Gobert on the bench. That way, they could take advantage of their length and deny the perimeter offense of the Mavericks to play well.
Had the Minnesota Timberwolves made those adjustments after the first loss, they would have a fighting chance in the Western Conference Finals. Now it maybe a bit too late.
