Charles Barkley has a lot of fans. Then there is Charles Oakley, who does not appreciate the Hall of Famer and has never missed a chance to undermine the Hall of Famer. The latter claimed to have slapped the Inside the NBA analyst after Barkley said something about the former New York Knicks enforcer during their time in the league.

Since then, they have been at odds, but no one knows what exactly the Round Mound of Rebound said that led Oakley to slap him. It is no secret that Barkley is known for his loud mouth. Therefore, there might be some truth to this story.

The 1994 All-Star has also been critical about how Barkley behaves on television, claiming that the former league MVP’s extreme criticism would one day land him in trouble. While speaking on the Art of Dialogue, Oakley had something to say about what Barkley said recently.

But you look at Barkley, who said everybody team up. He teamed up with Hakeem and Scottie Pippen in Houston. And he always talking about somebody teaming up. You know, I’m saying, just these guys, just some hypocrite on TV.

Charles Oakley said

Charles Oakley reminded the host of the show that Charles Barkley did indeed create a super team when Scottie Pippen joined him and Hakeem Olajuwon at the Houston Rockets.

In the previous two years, they had Clyde Drexler on the team. Therefore, the 6′ 9″ forward has a point, as Barkley was part of two superteams, yet criticizes those created in this era.

Charles Oakley labels Charles Barkley and Inside the NBA as ‘actors’

Charles Oakley was speaking on the point of how commentators and analysts change the narratives of the game of basketball. He then went on to say how Charles Barkley and his crew of Inside the NBA are not helping fans know the game.

He ain’t saying nothing, clowning. TNT and them guys, they do more clowning around than they do more telling people about the game. They trying to throw you off… But at least y’all got people want to tune in. You know, they be doing more acting and stunts they do in Hollywood sometime.

Charles Oakley said

The former Chicago Bulls star feels Inside the NBA does not add value to the game of basketball. Instead, they resort to theatrics to maintain their show’s interest among fans. He believes the 11-Time All-Star, with all his knowledge, should have been educating fans. Instead, their work on TNT formerly, and now on ESPN, is a disservice.

Charles Oakley confirms he slapped Charles Barkley

After talking about the miscues of Charles Barkley, the host of Art of Dialogue asked the other Charles if he had indeed slapped the former Houston Rockets star.

He said something, and I said next time I see him. It was at the NBA lockout, I walked in and I saw him. I didn’t speak to nobody. I just saw him, and did what I did. Had my seat and waited for the meeting to start. He felt it, he probably still feeling it. Now he wanna say, I don’t talk to guys that weren’t All-Stars. I don’t mind. You don’t have to talk to me. But you better not say nothing about me

Charles Oakley replied

With this, the Ohio native clarifies that he did indeed slap Barkley back when the NBA was in a lockout ahead of the 1998-99 season. That seemed to be the final straw between them.
