WWE’s European Tour heading into WrestleMania 41 has kicked off tremendously strong. The latest episode of SmackDown, emanating from Barcelona, featured Charlotte Flair’s first singles match in over a year. This match was a stark reminder to fans why she is considered one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time and a tremendous in-ring worker.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair faced off against B-Fab. During the bout, she trapped her opponent between her legs and slammed her face repeatedly into the ring mat. This is a highly popular move often performed by Stephanie Vaquer on NXT.

Stephanie Vaquer faced off against Giulia at NXT Roadblock. The stipulation dictated a title vs title match, with both the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship on the line. The Chilean had also used this move during that match and eventually came out on top. She made history by becoming the first woman ever to hold both these titles simultaneously.

The SmackDown match continued, Flair landed a super kick, and then went for Natural Selection. However, she didn’t go for the cover. Rather, she locked in the figure-8 leg lock until her opponent tapped out. Even after the match, she refused to break the hold until Tiffany Stratton came out to make the save.

Now, it is worth noting that this is not the first time that Flair has made this move. In fact, it has been in her arsenal since 2014. However, it has been quite a while since she made this move. Her bringing it out after so long could definitely be a nod to Vaquer, especially just a few days after her history-making feat at NXT Roadblock. The 38-year-old even gave a cheeky smile to the camera after performing it.

Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair get involved in a massive brawl on SmackDown

Following the match, Tiffany Stratton ran down to the ring to confront her WrestleMania opponent. These two superstars got into a huge brawl, and security had to come down to separate them. On the ringside, The Center of the Universe went for a Moonsault. However, instead of landing over Charlotte Flair, the 25-year-old landed on the security.

Despite Stratton missing completely, ‘The Queen’ pretended to get hit and fell down alongside the rest of the security guards. However, the awkwardness did not stop here for this segment. The two superstars continued to brawl and found themselves on the aisle.

Stratton climbed atop the titantron with Flair and the rest of the security watching her. She went for a senton bomb, but another hilarious botch ensued. The senton ended up hitting most of the security guards but missed the 14x World Champion once again. Regardless, she pretended to get hit again and fell to the ground.

Charlotte Flair lists her three greatest matches of all time

Charlotte Flair signed her first contract with WWE in 2012. She became a mainstay on NXT and even won the developmental brand’s women’s championship. She made her main roster debut in mid-2015 and has since won 2 Royal Rumble matches, 14 World Championships, and even main-evented WrestleMania 35.

With such a great roster of matches under her belt, she was recently asked in an interview with Adam Glyn to list three of her greatest bouts. Flair began by naming her match with Becky Lynch at WWE Evolution, an all-women PLE held by the promotion in 2018. Her next addition was her bout against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series 2018, and finally, her match against Asuka at WrestleMania 34.

The Evolution match against Becky Lynch was held under Last Woman Standing Rules. Meanwhile, the WrestleMania match took place against Asuka, who was coming off winning the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match, where the Japanese superstar lost her undefeated streak. Interestingly, she did not mention the triple threat where women had main-evented a WrestleMania for the first time ever.
