Chelsea goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy suffers injury on national duty
Chelsea goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy has suffered an injury while representing Senegal. He will be returning to Cobham for recovery procedures.
Frank Lampard’s injury concerns continue to pile up. Moreover with the form Kepa Arrizabalaga is in,it’s not wise to start him at goal. Chelsea fans will hope Mendy recovers quickly after the international break ends.
Chelsea release statement on Eduoard Mendy injury
Chelsea FC has released a statement regarding Mendy’s injury. Moreover they can confirm he has withdrawn from his national squad.
“The Senegalese Football Federation announces goalkeeper Edouard Mendy sustained an injury to the right thigh that occurred during the training session on Wednesday, October 07, 2020 and has undergone a medical examination at the hospital in Rabat.”
Edouard Mendy has also left the group this afternoon to return to his club (Chelsea) where he will undergo further examinations. The Senegalese Football Federation wishes him a speedy recovery.
