Chelsea vs Fulham: Alphonse Areola produces two fine saves to deny Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner

Chelsea are playing Fulham in the Premier League tonight. The Blues have the lead courtesy of a goal from Kai Havertz. Havertz’s goal was assisted by Mason Mount. At halftime Chelsea are leading Fulham 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Hakim Ziyech misses the chance to put Chelsea two nil up

Algerian international Hakim Ziyech had a golden opportunity to put Chelsea two goals ahead. Fulham couldn’t clear out their lines and carelessly gave away the ball to Hakim Ziyech in the midfield. Ziyech passed it to Kai Havertz who set Timo Werner away on the left. Werner did well to get ahead of him man and squared it up for Hakim Ziyech.

Hakim Ziyech misses an important chance

Ziyech got the shit away but Alphonse Areola scrambled back to put in the save. Just moments later Areola was once again called into action as Timo Werner this time went through on goal. After a tussle in the middle, Hakim Ziyech sent through a ball to Timo Werner who got a shot with his left foot. Areola quickly went down his left to save.
