In addition to his on-field accolades, Patrick Mahomes is known as one of the most beloved quarterbacks across the league for his locker-room approach. But this time, he took quite a different approach by bringing in television to the Kansas City Chiefs training camp.

The Chiefs are scheduled to begin their training camp from Sunday, July 21 but that isn’t the only thing that star quarterback Mahomes is awaiting. The 2024 Paris Olympics and the release of the College Football 25 video game are scheduled for this month. As he didn’t want to compromise his attention from the practice, he brought the television into the training camp as he revealed during a recent press conference.

This is my first year I'm bringing a TV. I haven't brought a TV ever before, but NCAA came out, I'm gonna have to turn it on. I brought a TV for NCAA and the Olympics.

As much as this move by the three-time Super Bowl champion seems odd, it isn’t surprising since he is known as a big-time video game fanatic. The return of popular college football video games after a long time out definitely brings back a lot of memories.

Given that the last installment of NCAA Football was released in 2013 when the elite quarterback was in high school. Its return following the recent regulations in college sports marks a big victory for video game enthusiasts.

Patrick Mahomes intends to balance Chiefs training camp with Olympics 2024

Along with the release of the highly-anticipated video game series, Mahomes is also excited about the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris, starting in the coming few weeks from July 26 to August 11.

If the Olympics hadn’t coincided with the Chiefs training camp, the quarterback wouldn’t have brought the television to the practice sessions.

Previously, the reigning Super Bowl MVP had also expressed interest in competing in the Olympics someday, possibly in the next 2028 Olympics to be held in Los Angeles. He shared in an interview last year he aspires to represent Team USA in flag football, set to be introduced in the next Olympic Games.
