Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones backs Kyle Larson to win 2024 NASCAR Cup Series
Chipper Jones believes Kyle Larson or another Hendrick Motorsports driver has the best shot at winning the championship in the 2024 season.

The 2024 NASCAR Cup season so far has been a battle between the Chevy giants Hendrick Motorsports and Toyota giants Joe Gibbs Racing, with Team Penske Racing occasionally outshining the two. The fight for the championship as of now is between HMS duo of William Byron and Kyle Larson against JGR duo of Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell.
Recently Atlanta Braves Legend Chipper Jones spoke to the media and made his 2024 championship pick. He has HMS’ Kyle Larson and William Byron as his candidates. Though he acknowledges the No:24 Chevy drivers’ prowess, he sees the No:5 of Larson winning the title. It a solid choice considering the 2021 Cup champion has the most wins this year with four.
I definitely like the guys in the Hendrick stable. I think somebody’s gonna come through, obviously up to this point Larson has been the guy, but William Byron can win any race on the circuit as well as anybody else in that stable. I think most of us who follow the sport would probably put Larson in the driver’s seat up to this point.Chipper Jones told Fox Sports.
The third HMS driver Chase Elliott and the defending Cup champion Ryan Blaney will also be the contenders for the championship this season. All these six drivers would most probably make it to the last-8 and their progression from there to the championship-4 is very hard to predict at the stage of the season.
Chipper Jones was the face of MLB in the new crossover event announcement
NASCAR and MLB are set for a historical crossover. The Bristol Motor Speedway is set to host the Braves regular season game against the reds. It would be the first MLB game hosted by a racetrack. With the hopes of breaking the baseball game attendance record, the game will be played a temporary field that would be built in the infield area.
Chipper Jones being a legend of the sport, being one of the best third basemen in MLB history was present at the official announcing event of the game. He was joined by none other than 2020 NASCAR champion Chase Elliott, and they had a great time during the announcement.
Elliott promised the baseball fans the best experience they would ever have at the track and Jones is excited to be in the stands enjoying it. It would be interesting to see how the game will playout and how the track will be changed for it.
