It appears the New York Giants tight end is handling the hardship of his divorce with WNBA star Kelsey Plum in a musical way, as he released a music video about his divorce. However, the responses so far haven’t been as Darren Waller had expected as NFL fans have been mocking him since last week.

Although Waller’s profession is football, he always had a keen interest in music, which he has once referred to as the “best tool for expression.” He married the Las Vegas Aces star last year but after just a year, the couple filed for divorce in April. Waller’s new song titled Who Knew is based on his relationship with Plum, which didn’t work out.

Surprisingly, the Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones also joined the queue of critiques as he gave a blunt yet hilarious take on his fellow NFL player’s music video.

Jones and Waller have faced off against each other a lot of times as AFC West rivals when the tight end was playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. Though the two haven’t seen each other since Waller moved to the Giants.

Even though Waller’s music video didn’t become a hit as he hoped, he might pursue it further as he reportedly thinking of retiring from the NFL. The Giants have already drafted his potential replacements as Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger.

Kelsey Plum devastated by divorce with Darren Waller

Before the NFL criticized Waller’s music video, his former wife Plum also expressed her displeasure over her divorce. She stated that she would tell her side of the story someday but not today.

The WNBA star also wrote how devastated she was by the divorce as she “walked through fire for that man” before realizing it was time to go.

You know in life, it's hard to love, it's hard to be free, it's hard to give all of your soul, have your heart broken in return.

Waller’s song was from his side of the song, where he also included a brunette actress portraying a fake Plum and how the relationship went wrong.
