Former Middleweight champion, Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall were supposed to fight at the UFC 258 on February 13. The highly anticipated fight between two middleweights, will not be happening, unfortunately. This fight has been scraped off the card on account of Weidman testing positive for the COVID 19. This news was initially reported by ESPN.

According to the news sources, Chris has been tested positive for coronavirus, which resulted in the delay for the ex-champ comeback. The UFC has planned to postpone the fight to a different card, Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall will be fighting at UFC 261 on April 24. The date and card have still not been guaranteed as the contracts haven’t been signed yet.

The former UFC champion has been in decent form coming off a two-game winning streak. Testing positive for the virus will sure affect his momentum. Chris Weidman’s last fight was against Omari Akhmedov.

Meanwhile, the Jamaican-American has been in terrific form too. Uriah Hall is coming off a three-game winning streak. He will for sure look to continue the great run. His last fight will for sure be memorable as he knocked out former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.

Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns will fight in the main event of UFC 258. The UFC fans are excited to watch the welterweight champion defend his championship belt against his former teammate, Burns. The pair were expected to fight at UFC 251 this past July in Fight Island. Similar to Chris Weidman, Gilbert Burns tested positive for Covid. Despite Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall not fighting, UFC 258 fight card still has some great fights on board.
